What is the ADFRR?

It is scenically (not geographically, for the purists who investigate things like this) located roughly between the Western Slope of the Rockies to Western Missouri and is considered to be a bridge route, although many industries are served.

It is basically a compression of 2,000 miles into 300 miles and was inspired by a train trip I took as a youngster during a pre-Christmas snowstorm. The indelible image of that rotary plow in front blowing snow for what seemed hundreds of feet, leading a magnificent passenger consist to clear the way has stayed with me to this day.

If you happen to use this route, I would suggest running Route-Riter and selecting heavy snow which helps recreate the experience.

Now if we could only get it blowing at 50mph ..
