An outrageous visual harassment ever since the original release in 2003 has been the placement of buildings on anything else than flat terrain. Even on slightly-sloped hillsides, you could get entirely levitating houses, as depicted, by as much as an entire floor height!
Given the attitude of the so-called "intellectual proprietors", the next feasible step for the average user with limited modelling tools and skills would be to place support(s) under parts of the building on negative relative altitudes, that would simulate a credible support of a superelevated structure.
A start was thus made with the Persian architectural style since it is the chosen default style for a fictional 3rd World environment, where a base map for testing industrial production models is being developed. A simple foundation pier was added underneath, a larger one for wide buildings and a smaller one for narrow ones. The aesthetic improvement is satisfactory on all but the most rugged terrain. In some instances, an additional module was necessary to create a smooth visual transition from the main superstructure to the foundation pier, resulting in several extra files. While examining the visual results of this intervention, it was realized that Persian House No. 4 was deprived of any doors! For this, an extra 3rd module was added, which created the fanciest, most elegant entrance in the whole group and made this house my Persian favourite!
