Re: Network cabling.

I studied for an electrician's vocational degree for a while (then chucked it and started a computer tech's one and completed that). A trainer there said that if 220V alternating is concerned, you'd have to have 20 normal electric cables around one cat5 before it would start picking up interference....

I bought this computer case from a private seller and he didn't give me any details (of course he had the appropriate pictures in his ad at a Finnish ebay-type site). So, is this just a generic chinese case or something else? http://moggie.ddns.net/~moggie/kotelo.jpg

Re: New transportation game

Performing a little old thread necromancy here, when Cities in Motion 2 was released, I bought it but was disappointed. It's almost a different game :-( . The introduction of timetables has not been very successful. Graphics are fancy, sure, but the game itself has taken a step back.

How about merging this with the earlier RT3 Snaps -thread? Also, the guy who drew the track lining here might have been slightly inebriated...

Re: New map for testing: Opar Peninsula (fictional)

It was tough going and took several restarts to get things working. I started by just hauling rice to Opp port from the rice farm nearby. Then I inched my way to Salsanik and continued from there. By now my company is doing fine, there's enough income to expand and to pay back loans.

I just turned off the whole UAC system. More bother than it's worth.

A dairy farm, if bought before starting the game rolling, is a very good source of income. But they go up in price really quick.

Yes, perhaps it could be 8 cars on a single loco and 6 cars per loco up to 4 locos... **!!!**

Re: Running more than 8 cars

No. That limit is unconditional. Sometimes tho', when one changes the makeup of a train while it's loading, one may get a 10-car train but that's a bug.

Re: Help with graphics problem please

I think it's the annoying problem that RT3 engine has. Namely, it reads the amount of display memory wrong, if the total RAM of the computer is between 2G and 4G. I got rid of that problem by increasing my RAM to 8G.

Re: Overlapping Stations

I usually use two stations only when even a large station cannot cover all of the city. Sometimes it's just an organisational thing, like in Chunnel where I sometimes have London station on the north bank of the Thames and London International on the south bank. Then I have British trains stop in Lo...

Re: New Computer Big Problems.

I suspect it's the old problem in RT3, which causes graphics to malfunction when PC RAM is between 2G and 4G. I'm afraid there are very few solutions short of upgrading to 6G or 8G. :-(. I myself got a !*th_up*! result after going 4G -> 8G

Trailmix? No, railmix!

How, pray, is this supposed to be possible? The left side station is mine, and the double rail is mine. But the other rail belongs to a different company !*00*!

Re: Across the Blue Mountains

I've taken a couple of stabs at this and learned a couple of things already. So far no major success but I'm trying...The mountains are pretty formidable and one needs a lot of small towns in order to find enough cargo to get on the black.

Got finally gold on this one :-) . It was on medium since I know my limitations. Anyway, the way I did it was to first connect Beijing to the ports of Qingdao and Rizhao. From there I went down the coast to Shanghai. Then I connected Wuhan and started the toy and car exports. Instead of going due we...
