OK! I did download the stable version. I'll get the latest version.
I didn't unzip the pak. I'll try that.
Thanks! :D

no problem,
you need to unzip the pak,
then cut/paste the executable into the pak's simutrans folder,
then run it.
Also, under linux you must specify -nomidi
ie, the command/shortcut i use to run the game is:
/home/daniel/simutrans/simutrans -nomidi
Otherwise it freezes for a few seconds whenever it tries to play Windows MIDI files/sounds.

OK! Thanks! I'll see if I can figure that out.
Do I need to use Synaptic for this?

no you dont need to use a package manager,
just download the 2 files to your desktop,
unzip them both, move the executable,
then move the folder to your home directory,
and create a short cut to the executable, with the -nomidi line at the end of it.
:)

So Hawk,
have you got Simutrans working yet?
What do you think of it?

No, I haven't. I must be doing something wrong.
I'll figure it out someday. :D

so, the latest executable is still not working for you,
even when you move it into the pak folder,
if you want i might be able to send you my folder in a zip,
(already done/should work)
