New RRT3 v1.06 map - Malwinia Unread post

!!howdy!! This is my latest creation, a fictive map, called Malwinia. This map is almost maximum size with 232 cities/towns/villages, and gives room for a large national railway system. The map has a small independent railway company on an island, to give some competition in the game. It's not another AI company to build without any control the most silly way, it simply cannot build any track, but is rather meant as an investor buying up your stocks and the industry on the mainland. Any comments, advice and suggestions are, as always, welcome :salute:

232 cites? Why do I have the feeling connecting a fair majority of them is a part of the victory conditions? In all seriousness though this looks like an interesting map and i'll definitely take a look at it.

:-) This time there is no demand to connect any cities to win the game, but besides other optional bonuses, there is a 10 mill company bonus for for connecting 100/150/200 cities within 30/45/60 years. To gain access to buy electric locomotives, your company owned electric plants must exceed a Lifetime To Date production of minimum 25.000 Gigawatt-hours. To win the game you only need to have a PNW of 50/75/100 mill and a Company Total Assets of 200/400/600 mill. at the beginning of 1955 for bronze and silver and gold before the beginning of 1955. Game start 1865 :salute: .

Electric? No thanks. You see I subscribe to the Age of Steam V school of locomotive power. Oh and from what i've experienced so far this is going to be a fun one.

Well, as the Admiral indicates, I don't usually try for the electric, unless there is a financial bonus, of which there isn't in this scenario. Being that there is a bonus for the "steel", the GHW, goal would only be secondary, as I need all the coal for the steel mills. Not that it isn't a challenge to make the goals more interesting. :salute: {,0,}

Well, I managed to get the Gold in Expert by 1931, but did not attempt the goals for the GWHs, or the Machinery. Rather expended resources on Steel. I did get some of each, but not having attempted those goals, did not accummulate much to their accomplishment.

I did find some minor problems. The 1st was that of the indication that the P2 became available in 1922, but never showed. In place of it was the BR39 2-8-2. Might be something in the original programming by PopTop.

Another was that of the notice that I had met the criteria of "1500" track, when I reached, and also the actual requirement of "1200" track.

Unlike other of Arops creations, I didn't have to "search" for obtaining 200 cities. I didn't count them, but there are considerably more.

An interesting scenario and am sure that it will give players some enjoyable hours of play. :salute: {,0,}

Here is a new and improved version of the Malwinia map.
What's NEW?
A) Game start 1850, game end 1950, or when gold is won.
B) Prebuilt AI on island removed. Option for playing against up to 15 AI opponents.
C) 4000/8000/12000/16000 milage bonus each before 1890/1905/1920/1935.
D) Track quote start, human changed to 1000.
E) Track quote for AI's 150 pieces per year (to avoid AI's building across the map).
F) Coastline changed, now a total of 256 cities.
G) Connection bonus by 100/150/200/250 cities before 30/45/60/75 years from game start.
H) More hilly terrain on Northeastern plains.

I won the gold in 1936 :salute:

I started it last night and it's fun so far. One thing I would suggest is better industry on Daix island, because that railway is only the track between the two Southern cities.

:!: Daix Island, as well as the prebuilt railway company is now removed in the improved beta version 2 (look above). That small railway did not work properly. :salute:

That's too bad. It was a good idea. I'll download the new version soon.

Well I managed to get the Gold with 15 AIs for challenge. Did manage to merge 12 of the 15. Not able the 2 as managers had controlling stock, and I did a pittance amount.
Although I managed the Gold in Dec 29, 80 years, I really had to work the CBV, as with 15 AIs, the major AIs had a goodly amount of the supply farms. My industries were adequate, but I really added revenue for the AIs, having to haul from their supply farms.
I was not able to fulfill the GWH of 25,000 with only 8.6K, of which wasn't a requied goal, and I usually don't use electric. The machinery bonus of 500 lds did not get filled either with only 405. There was some of my problem basically, getting the steel, as the AI was 'steeling' whatever I supplies I hauled to the steel mill.

Lots of fun. :salute: {,0,}
