Halp!

I'm in the process of making my first map and I've got it as far as into the editor. But I'm at a loss: I have painted a region/city, named it and set some other values. However, it doesn't show as a city, no name visible, no stars either. What am I missing? Is there a document about using the editor in basics, such as creating regions, creating lakes and such. I mean, the what-menu-option-to-choose kinda way.

You have to go into the add buildings window and add the cities. It's at the top of the list.

If you have any questions just let me know and I'll see what I can do. I guess I did sort of take over your idea of 2 countries separated by a river. Hopefully it is at least somewhat representative of your original idea. It did turn out to be a little longer of a scenario than I thought it would be.

Oilcan is currently working on a guide to map making, I'm not sure if he wants to release it at this time, but I'd imagine it would be fairly useful in helping you get started with making a map.

Try this link, and in the menu on the left, click on Surveyor. Maybe it will help a little anyway.

The link to that section is in the Railroad Tycoon drop down menu on the web site. ;-)

Hey Moggie: There's a private message for you with a rough draft guide book on how to make a map. Please don't post the guide book or share it -- it's not ready for prime time yet. I'm working with three others on this forum to get the guide book up to snuff.
