Seattle Lake Shore & Eastern

Pleased to find this site. Some of my best memories are walking the long out of service rails of the SLS & E in the summertime. A very small local coal mining transport line that fed Seattle from the Renton & Newcastle coalfields. It's all blacktopped walking trails now, lined with blackberries. Some of the coalcars are nearby at the bottom of the lake, sunken in a storm when transferred by barge. There was once a very old service crane off the tracks that we'd crawl over figuring out what was wrong with it.
Cheers, and good luck with your moving Hawk.
