The map is non-existent to all 3 of my installs.

Never seen that happen before. **!!!**
I tried 1.05, and 2 versions of TM. Then I remembered the size of the rar file, 15kb. The size of the map file, 20 mb.

I'm going to guess the map didn't zip/compress properly and so it's a corrupted file we've tried to use which explains why it doesn't show up.

If it were a corrupted compression, WinRAR would have thrown up an error about CRC not matching, although going from 20 MB to 15 KB is quite unusual, even for WinRAR.

The map didn't show up for me neither, so I looked at in hex and it is 21 meg of 0s. I'd say the map is corrupt somehow.

Maybe...make sure you run TM as admin just to be safe.

I wiped my drive that my games was on (it was needing a clean out), thought i'd do a fresh install of everything and start over but just found a huge crack in my play disc which doesnt like my cd drive at all, so have to wait 3-5 days for amazon to deliver a replacement copy, £3.83 isnt too bad i suppose

Thanks

I am able to load that map fine...didn't crash either, although the editor thinks it's a campaign map. Loads as a scenario though.

A word of advice, don't bother painting a map until it is completed and has been tested. You'll just end up doing it all over again.

you can even release a working beta version for the people to test before worrying about paint and trees

In fact, I recommend it. Posting maps here will usually get a few people to test it for you, depending on how busy folks are.

The reason for holding off on painting the terrain until last is because every time you save the map, during building the events, testing, and such, it will degrade the painting somewhat, and a little more each time.
You could save each time with a different name, but it's still safer to wait until the end to paint. ;-)

That actually explains a lot, I saved it a few times while I had my issues and noticed the sea was taking some islands and land away, thought I had messed it up somehow while it crashed, I'm gonna check some forums out for ideas or advice, looking for one about building pre existing track, I need to start 2 companies up for historic reasons but dont want to use any form of money cheats, is it possible or am I doomed to add the money the bad way ;) (starts the money launder machine)

Here's a thread that may help. viewtopic.php?f=66&t=821

You can also read some of the threads found in the 'Letters to the Editor/Scenario Writing' forum.

Took a few days off to relax for my birthday there on thursday, needed to chill with the future Mr's, she's so tolerant of my geeky behaviour, especially when at her home her dad has one of the largest collections of model railway layouts in the area (he runs exhibitions locally), I have been trying to butter her up to help me with my project as shes a programmer by nature and can write the events on this game 10 times faster than me on a good day, now i'm back from birthday land I have time to fully focus on finishing these maps off, apart from the base map of the UK I uploaded earlier on the forum I will have 3 more regional base maps released soon,(unpainted) all I gotta do now is sweettalk the lady to helping me get some challenges set up :)

Could you sweettalk her father to let you take some pics of his layouts and post them online? :?:

i have 2 weblinks for his sites, http://www.perthmrc.com/ and http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/

I went to the exhibition in perth a few weeks ago (my first time), I was pleasantly impressed with the amount of people there and what was on show, some really impressive layouts

I can only send links just now because the only camera I have at the moment is a rubbish one on my phone
