Ceylon Unread post

!!howdy!! Attached to this topic is my latest rrt3 v1.06 map, called Ceylon. The map starts in 1875-90 when Sri Lanka was under British Colonial rule and ends in 1940 at the beginning of WWII.
Legend for the railway map attached:
RED stations shows the railways as built.
GREEN stations shows railways under construction.
YELLOW stations shows railways planned, but never built.
:-) Any comments, advice and suggestions are, as always welcome :salute:

Re: New map: Ceylon (beta 1 version) Unread post

This scenarion has an interesting concept of imagination and challenges. I did manage Expert, but within the last few years, due to the limited supply of "rubber". Which I believe only became available in 1900. And it took some stategy to obtain both the LIP and CBV, alloting a considerable amount of revenue in the purchases of industry.
Enjoyed another of Arops creation, and believe other players will find it enjoyable as well. :salute: {,0,}

Re: New map: Ceylon (beta 1 version) Unread post

Just did it on normal and got the Golden one by 1922. Had all cities connected by 1898 but completed the story without the boni for rubber (appearing in 1900) and iron.

No problems detected - good map, arop! (0!!0)

I think I might try this map.

Thank you for posting it.

Update:

I tried to play this map, but I can't find it on my map list for scenarios.

I am running a windows vista, with coast to coast installed.

Maps created in Version 1.06 will not show up in the selection list in any other install but 1.06.

You should have a look at this thread about multiple installs.

I also recommend patching your Coast to Coast (V-1.04) to V-1.05

Thanks for the help, I patched up to 1.06 and played Ceylon.

Amazing Map. I really liked it.

BTW guys start with industries on this one, most of the other industries are very unprofitable. So that means no loads to haul.

Be aware that maps made for 1.05 will not play as intended in 1.06 due to the changes made to 1.06. That's why I gave you the link to the thread about multiple installs. ;-)

Re: Ceylon Unread post

Played this today, seems a bit unfinished, but as always nice design. Lots of iron, only place to go is a port that converts it to coal, which soon has no place to go except power plants, steel mill unavailable or I might have tried to play with that. Massive rubber late, but only to Colombo to convert to Steel. Arrangements are not quite right, I would have liked to be able to try for not only a Steel Mill but also an Auto Plant, thought no tires either, and probably not historically accurate. Rock for Ceramics for Concrete a bit too obvious. Started pure Pax, industry as an afterthought, really. Easy cruise to gold on Expert in 1925, a decade spent just buying back stock so I could be sole owner.
