Base Maps

Unread postby Grandma Ruth » Sat Sep 05, 2009 1:57 pm

What's happened to the map-creating facility? The one that came as an extra in the original RT3? I can't find it and, in fact, I can't find it all in any version I have running. Is it an RT2 thing? Have I lost the plot completely? **!!!**
Edit: yes, I had lost the plot. I've found it on my original RT3 disc, I just hadn't installed it at all.
What do you think, ned? Is it worth your while to include it in the Trainmaster package, or does that just complicate things? Do we assume people who are going to make maps will know about Map Builder?

I am assuming that people have a properly installed "out of the box" version of RT3 before installing TM. So I am assuming that people already have it. I think Hawk also has it available for download. If it is a problem, then I can include it with the TM files.

Take no notice of me, just had a bit of a memory lapse there. Might be useful to leave this thread up though in case anybody else has a similar glitch.

I don't think you want to do that. It's 218 MB.

Really, it shouldn't be necessary because with the CD requirment, most people will have it anyway.

Except for those like Ruth that forget to install it (Sorry Ruth. I couldn't help it. ^**lylgh ).
Even then, if they get a copy of RT3 that doesn't include the Map Builder it's still available here. I know the Steam version doesn't include it.
