Railroad Tycoon II was, in some ways, an improvement over the original with the addition of the Editors and a better stock market engine, and having been developed under the Windows platform, better graphics. It was also easier to build an empire, at least for me. I have, as yet, been unable to hold my Chairman's seat long enough to make any headway in the original.
Although I played RRT II for quite a while, I only made one map, Scorpion Mountain. The event scripting left me scratching my head more often than not. The win events never did work until recently, and only then with the help of Steve Martineau (loco_m at The Express World Forums). Steve also suggested making the map a little harder, so I adjusted the medal requirements.
