Need help for Patch 1.06

When I run the exe, it crashes with an unable to install. ANd it does this whether I have moved the installation to a separate folder outside of Programs86. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Oh--I have windows 7. Installed with steam. Used to have it on dvd but the play dvd is cracked and its 2.50 on steam right now....

This was discussed in the other thread you posted in.
I don't think you can patch the Steam RT3.exe due to Steams proprietary exe configuration.
Go to this link
http://hawkdawg.com/rrt/rrt3/no_cd/no_cd_patch.htm and try that exe.

I am going to uninstall the steam installation, reinstall up to 1.05, then redownload the 1.06 zip. I think the 1.06 may be corrupt

Update--the crack to eliminate the need for the cd is essential for the 1.06 patch, at least if your "play cd" is mia. Thanks.

It is for the Steam version. If you install RT3 from the cd and patch to 1.05, the 1.06 install will patch over the default 1.05 exe, as stated in the 1.06 installation instructions.
The Steam exe is different than the default 1.05 exe. It's proprietary; created by Steam for the Steam installation.
