They had a beta, I believe someone from this forum got a spot in the beta.
It does seem to be a little lacking in features at the moment. Sadly this is pretty common for game releases these days. I will almost certainly pick it up at some point, but I'm not going to pay $35 for an unfinished game.

Re: Train Fever - Railway Game in Development
I believe they've added freight. Plus they are supposedly releasing mod tools, so before too long we'll have more cargo than we know what to do with. It may be limited to European maps for the moment but again, with mods I can't see that remaining the case. Even if it is...I can't imagine boycotting...

Re: Train Fever - Railway Game in Development
Just discovered this game. It comes out this week! Here's the link to its Steam page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/304730 They're offering 10% off if you preorder. I am considering it. The game looks great. Looks like a true successor to RRT3, with some Transport Tycoon and dash of Cities in Mo...

Re: Map suggestion needed
Pretty cool that this forum is still active! I haven't been here in a while.
mikerolf, you might want to check out arop's maps, they have victory conditions but they provide a very long timeframe (usually 50+ years).

I think I mis-read your post, I see now that you said "I hope you have another RT2". Sorry about the confusion. Sadly, I only have one, because the Half Price Bookstores in Houston only had one!

Altoona, I think it's only fair to wait and see what gismoskip says - he did ask for it to be put on hold at least for the day. If he declines, you're certainly next in line.

If deciding whether you want a $2 game takes you this much time, effort and discussion...I can't imagine what your major decisions are like!

Re: Picked up RT2 and RT3 discs - anyone need a copy?
I don't know if RT2 works on Vista - but I suspect Hawk or someone else around here can answer that! I just tried it on Windows 7 and it popped up the Install menu immediately, so the disc appears to be in good shape. Yes, I'm giving it away, RT2 cost me all of $2 at the store, and shipping can't be...

Picked up RT2 and RT3 discs - anyone need a copy?
So I just got back from visiting Houston, and while I was there I made a point of stopping at several Half Price Books locations. (There are 9 in the metro area, and I hit 7). They sell used books, of course, but most stores also have a very interesting selection of used PC games. Sorry, I mean &quo...

Re: RT3 running on Windows 7
I should probably knock on wood...but I just had about the easiest time ever installing RT3 on my new Windows 7 machine. (Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit). I ran the setup.exe file using Windows XP compatibility mode. The only issue I had was when the installation program tried to install the Readme.rtf f...

Re: RT3 running on Windows 7
My new PC should arrive just in time for the long New Year's weekend, so I am anticipating a weekend of loading and exploring and tweaking. I have high hopes that I'll be able to get RRT3 up and running...but if not, I will be here asking for assistance!
Merry Christmas to all!

Re: RT3 running on Windows 7
Hawk, that 2nd link is this thread, I believe. :-D I read this thread and it's a little confusing because it starts back in early 2010, when there were apparently lots of problems. More recently there do not seem to be as many problems, but I guess my mileage may vary. I am getting an Intel CPU but ...

Re: RT3 running on Windows 7
Just ordered my first-ever Windows 7 computer. Of course one of the programs I'd like to install as soon as I get it up and running is RRT3, followed shortly by all the maps Hawk will let me download. :-D I am getting Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I do plan to get all the "compatibility" ...

Re: Children are having children
Much like everything else, I think it comes down to parenting. If you're brought up with the right messages as a kid, you are less likely to think to yourself "hey, having a kid at 16 would be great because I could get on welfare" or whatever.
