Re: Any scenarios I might not have played to be recommended

(*!!wel Welcome back, Sauerteig. It would help to know which maps you enjoyed in the past. The game has a lot to offer. People can enjoy the game for different reasons. Some of the most memorable scenarios for me have been ones where I needed to advance my knowledge of the game in order to achieve t...

Re: Railway Empire

Update from me on this. I gave up on RE2. Haven't played it for months now. This game seems to have been designed around one thought: player must build a huge sprawling network. That's fine in theory. It's just that there is no "reason" to build it. And the signals and track work make the ...

Re: Cargo/raw material

RT3 has layers of complexity. I believe it's possible to have a completely different experience with it based on your perception and notice of details. For example, as a beginner I didn't use the cargo overlays which show a price heat map for the given geography and a visualization of non-train reso...

Re: Hex editor for more output

Actually you can modify overall production rate in the bty file but it doesn't display accurately in the UI. The proper way is using the bca file. BCA file specs =================== HEADER (55) PRODUCTION ENTRIES (x*188) FOOTER (169) HEADER (55) -------------- 000 : 4 : int : bcaStart : F203 = 1010 ...

Re: Hosting is being transferred!

That's a shame about your installs. Fear of crashes can suck your motivation pretty easily. I had that before on another game. If there was something I can do to help I would. But, other than suggesting obvious things like trying a stock standard install with the minimum needed (maybe dgVoodoo) to g...

Re: East of Mississippi

East of Miss, low effort electric, ledger.jpg Decided to refresh my memory of this. To keep it interesting I didn't use the maintenance spurs. Also, no industry/bonds. Only built electric track which also slows expansion a lot. Started NYC - Philadelphia - Washington D.C., ran 4 cars on the E60CP. ...

Re: Hosting is being transferred!

The information here may not that organized, but there is a trove of it. A lot of WIP maps especially for Trainmaster (they were abandoned but if you are keen most they are playable with only a couple adjustments) and other stuff that's usable but not completely polished. When I'm on now it says 15 ...

Re: Age Of Steam IV-Blue Streak For Your Comment and Review

Those were ideas. I had a closer look and it's easy in 1.06 to specify if the player can build a certain recipe as port, warehouse, or both. Only Build Ports.jpg I unchecked the warehouse versions and I can now only build ports. Saved and reloaded the game, appears to work great. The map would actua...

Re: Age Of Steam IV-Blue Streak For Your Comment and Review

Our discussion about "probabilities" are probably not particularly useful in hindsight. I would suggest you take a look at the solution that was used in that version. One roll of Random 1 to 100 saved to a variable, seems to approximate the intent of the events, and it should be much bette...

#5, If you didn't remember, the edit by Shamough had a lot (at least a week in total) of bug testing by yours truly. Although I was a bit green in the editor at that stage, so I'm sure there are some things still not right. I can't promise a lot of time, but if you want a 2nd opinion on warehouse re...

Re: Pacific Northwest

The powerful thing with stacking cargo is when you wait a little while for price to depress further. Your target should be $20k+ per load. This often involves stopping the trains that just delivered the cargo. Then starting them up again a month or 2 or 3 later (in many cases as long as possible bef...

Re: Hi to all.

I think one of the keys was that I stayed out of debt. There might be a place for it, but that would have to be carefully considered. Using it for something expensive like the bridge NYC to Albany could work, but you would probably have to leverage value. Save part of the money, and then try to get ...

Re: Hi to all.

edit: Actually, I am looking for a SimRe type of experience from the RE1 Workshop. The SimRe series was IMO practically rendered obsolete by the change that allowed RE1 to be played at 50% speed. Further updates to Free Mode, the "Advanced Settings," further reduced the relevance of this ...

Re: Engine Age and does it matter?

Sounds like a bug, but I don't remember it. Perhaps it's a glitch that is not reliably replicated? Maybe starting a fresh game can solve it. Did you use any cheat codes? Not having experience, but I suppose that using those codes may cause unexpected behavior afterwards?

Re: Hi to all.

Hmm, I haven't seen that problem with bonds. Maybe it's new. I know that we can get the max if we take the medium and then the large one. Under circumstances it's possible to take 3 small ones. That might be a strategy if earnings are weak. I believe engine "maintenance" is akin to running...

Re: Player investment and transferring money from PNW to company

Maybe you are not looking at the stock market the way that we do. It's all hinged around margin buying. This is where risk comes in, even though what we are doing is "insider trading." If we buy on margin at the correct time in a fast expanding company we can hit 100% ownership with a debt...

Re: Hi to all.

Interesting, so you are trying to negate the "bonuses." What about using dozing to adjust your cash balance for those connections you want and just letting the others expire? I don't quite understand your process or it's intention. Which character did you use? Barti Shiloh with +30% tracks...
