The A and B era screenies for the reefers are common to both reefer types; I only posted C and D era screenies for fruit since they differ. Thus, you only need 4 shots; leave out the C and D for the meat/cheese, as that has yet to be released. As far as being ready for you to add to your page, yes, ...

Thank you Bambardiere! With his help, I am finally getting the 2D profile icons to look right, and so I am beginning to update the already-released cars, and for cars that I release from here on out I'll be sure to include the profiles for the train list. I've added another car that can be download...

I think of the Random number thing as a roll of one die, in this case a 100-sided die (or 1000-sided for the other version). Every time you invoke it, you roll one more die. So, like on a single 6-sided die your chance of rolling a 1 is 1/6, if you take two rolls your chances of getting snake eyes b...

At one point in time, trolley lines were built by PRIVATE INVESTORS because there was money to be made... improving trip time by 2 minutes over walking was worth something back then! But the reality of 1907 is not the reality of 2007, and it is a monumental waste of public funds to try and impose th...

I faced this when I wanted to build a map of just Virginia, and what I ended up doing was foregoing the MapBuilder altogether. Instead, I went on a hunt for DEM files - Digital Elevation Models, which can be saved as a black and white TGA image file, in which the black represents the low spots, and ...

Please go back to my web site (or perhaps Hawk will soon have it available here) and get the revised version of the Pulpwood Flatcar. http://wpandp.com/RRtycoon.html I swapped out the TGA's with DDS files, so now it should look like it is carrying logs in the main 3D window. I haven't worked out the...

Okay, so I haven't fixed the profile icons in the train list yet, but I did fix the problem with the Pulpwood Flatcar. The load on the flatcar still looked like boxes of goods, because the CargoModels skin was not loading; this was due to the file type, and so now I have re-posted the ZIP file with ...

One thing I haven't figured out yet, is it possible to assign a random value to a variable? Like, instead of Game Variable 1 = 1, let GV1=[random]. I know how to use the random number generator to test against, but there doesn't seem to be a way to store a random value for later use. Why would I wan...

I have been made aware of the issues with skins, but have not yet had time to resolve and re-issue them. With the holiday approaching, I just don't seem to have much in the way of free time! However, rest assured that the bugs will get worked out and a revision posted someday soon. Based on feedback...

You can always rename a train yourself. Then, you could add in the missing "(" somewhere in the train name if you like! Or, add a semicolon and a dash to the end of the name... ;-)

You know, I think what I will do in the future is just include the original CTY and other files within a "backup" folder, so that folks won't have to reinstall just to get a lousy little file. Of course, that means I'll have to mend my own ways - I've been doing all my modding without crea...

The answer is: yes, and no. I haven't figured out how to do the 2D icon for the list view yet, so what it is doing is it is just defaulting to "random" car sides right now. I am working towards a solution right now, but I decided to go ahead and release these without a 2D profile icon. So,...

I use a Mac at work, and even though I have Firefox installed, I still tend to use Safari most of the time. At home I use Firefox, so really it probably works out to 50-50, but I only get one vote. So, Safari it is for me, just to be a little different! I know Firefox is gonna win this poll...

A suggestion I have is to reinstall the game... though, maybe not to the same directory, if you have custom content that you wish to preserve. Just create a second copy of the game, and then scour its install folders for this particular file. I guess another option would be to trust that one of us w...

It is possible to create additional cargoes, as was done in the 1.06 patch. But, the number of available slots for cargoes is not that many, and I think 1.06 uses most or all of the available slots. If you have 1.06 installed, then I would suggest using "Ore" as your cargo, as this was the...

Way to go, Wsherrick! Yes, all my express trains have a dining car and no caboose, get hauled by Pacifics or Northerns or F-3's or FP-45's. And all the freight trains get a caboose and a Mike or a Mountain or GP-9's or GP-35's. And, the passengers get green-light priority, slow coal and iron drags g...

We got a lot of folks partial to B&O it seems! I voted for them too, because they are sort of like the parent road that put my fictional shortline WP&P up for adoption; I model this line as if it were a Norfolk & Western property, but there's trace elements of B&O in the WP&P sto...
