Re: A Few Important Questions

Generally speaking, if you're playing Europe World, electrics far outmatch diesels in cost effectiveness, reliability, speed, pulling power and so on, especially after 1950. In America though, there are some powerful diesel choices. Accurate, diesels are highly prominent in north America and electr...

Re: A Few Important Questions

I'll watch it, theBonobo4! Yes your videos are great. I can get the Silver there, but not the Gold. I prefer playing Europe, Asia and Latin America maps BTW  . Thanks for the kind words! I've got another scenario I need to finish recording and then upload, so expect that in a few days hopefull...

Re: Another Connie (coz we need an uglier one)

When I say ugly I mean passenger appeal, not my actual opinion. That camel back does look good, though I'm unsure if I'll use it since I don't use the default one any way and I don't use shunters. But I obviously understand the point of the locomotive and it's very well made on your part. !*th_up*! ...

Re: Another Connie (coz we need an uglier one)

I'm using all the fan made locomotives that I know of, on 1.05, so that includes things like the ten wheeler and the mogul. I very rarely if ever use the camelback, it's ugly and slow, I think it's only good points if I remember are that it's cheap. But I might be wrong.

Re: Another Connie (coz we need an uglier one)

Well if you don't want it Gruesome you can change it to suit yourself. If you want it doing 300 mph with purple headlights, that's fine by me. I'm even happy to tell you how to do it. !*th_up*! TBH I'm still not entirely sure about final stats for this one. I haven't played a map that uses it since...

It's a shame this locomotive is gruesome, I think it looks awesome. Proper American steam train. !$th_u$!

Few Questions about RT3 in General?

Some of these questions I think I know the answers to, but I just need clarifying or explaining as I'm not 100 percent sure. 1. Firstly, whilst I'm 99% sure the economy is random, is there ANY way to create/predict an economic boom, end of boom, depression, recession, etc? I'm fairly sure the answer...

Rebooting your computer should fix that.
I'll try again tomorrow then. Wasn't aware a computer restart was necessary.

Thanks. Think it's working now. Will play for a bit later and hope it doesn't crash out again. The water reflections do look good. :-D

Re: RT3 Causes Frequent BSOD?

Never mind I think I downloaded and got dgVoodoo to work successfully. The Disable Hardware T&L is now unchecked permanently in Graphics settings, and Water Reflections are on and seem to work. I only played briefly but so far, no crashes. Let's hope this holds out. :-D Do I need the other files...

Re: RT3 Causes Frequent BSOD?

I have never seen a BSOD from this game. Definitely sounds more like an underlying problem with the computer. I did have a thought that perhaps it's a heat problem. With an old computer it might be full of lint and dust. This game isn't very energy conscious in it's usage habits especially if you a...

Re: General Strategy Guidelines I Found Useful - Feel Free to Discuss

I've just installed 1.06 on a fresh installation, all seems to be working, loaded up British Isles on Expert, started up as usual. Noticed the Construction Yards, Customs Houses and also there seemed to be more cargo than normal. Either this is due to hauling at a loss (I didn't have any custom cons...

Re: General Strategy Guidelines I Found Useful - Feel Free to Discuss

Right. I might then install it at some point. Though I don't see how 1.06 will help. I think it's just that my laptop does not like the game for whatever reason. I'm wondering if maybe I'm missing some dll file, is there any way to know? I don't have any custom cargo skins, I just have maps, logos a...

Re: General Strategy Guidelines I Found Useful - Feel Free to Discuss

Try sourceforge.net for open source video editing software. I dunno if Vegas is, though **!!!** . You don't need a separate install for 1.06. If only for the extra locos and game maps available here, it's worth it. I thought I read that you did. **!!!** I might install it one day though. I already ...

Re: General Strategy Guidelines I Found Useful - Feel Free to Discuss

I never get a BSOD with RT3. Try installing the 1.06 patch and tweaking your own video settings optimally: IIRC, I've turned TRansform and Lighting on and now my maps look like a shine, also with High Graphic details the water is very very nice to look at. But you might want to disable these settin...
