Actually you are both right. Even if there is no consumer of the product of some of these industries they will generally make a huge profit if supplied with enough raw cargo. For awhile. Sometimes it will take 10 years for the industry to go into the red. Take for instance lumber mills in remote pla...

I don't know about that site. It may have been hijacked. I went to it awhile back and noticed I had aquired some Trojan viruses about the same time.

Force test against territory is TRUE then select your territory in the box.

Effect is to company/territory effect is true.

Set territory to Allow ALL

Anyone know what I've done wrong and how I can give the UP a decent stock price? Its been awhile. You might have built track and then bulldozed it thus losing lots of money. Or you could have built a lot of track without having the money to do so. You should try looking at the books and see how muc...

As far as adding new cargos, I'd be interested in hearing if anyone had any hard data on the cargos that were carried from 1830-1860, 1860 to 1900 and 1900 to present. You can find Census data online. Besides populations they have number of people employed in various professions and sometimes the g...

Re: Suggestions for new cargo streams

One of the topics under discussion for an upcoming patch concerns the possibility of introducing new cargo streams into the game. There appears to be the ability to code up to 19 new cargo types and several new buildings to go along with new cargo streams. So far, two new streams have been discusse...

Steve, Thanks for the reply. My statement of " Is it possible to limit the distance that a resource will travel via land but not water? " is slightly out of place as the original post was made in the thread "RT3 Patch tasks (long, make sure you read end)" but I wandered too much...

There is no way to restrict the flow of cargo if it wants to wander around. Towns are good because they consume cargoes and usually industries will locate there. Grains and many common cargoes usually are not worth the trouble to make special stops for. Only if there aren't very many on the map. The...

You have to do it all in one go. You can't paste half a page and the try to paste add another page on to that. You put it all in your editor and then paste it all at once.

add copy+paste to events (JSS, Grandma Ruth, milo) [20%,C,weeks] - May have to settle for event export/import
You can do this now can't you? I think I remember spell checking the text in Trans-Siberian and pasting it in the box.

milo, somethings might be doable like, prevent AI from purchasing industry in territory they have no rights. Can you change the general cargo system to not flow more than 0.1 carload per cell per month? This would well up the cargo at the source somewhat so to make it a bit like RT2 where small stat...

There are three main things that disappointed me with RT3 and the number 1 is the reason I didn't do more maps. 1. It took over a year to fix one small problem. This was pre-built players lost all the stock in pre-built companies in a game. So you could make a player the CEO of a company but he woul...

This was a great way to attack an opponent. You would place a large station over one of his best cities and run track a few cells to a small station and with a dedicated and cheap train you would drop ship everything you could lay your hands from the big station. You stripped all the money making ca...

Hawk, I did find one small error in Prince of Steel. Instead of sending a complete change if you could load it up and change this it would fix it. The a-Manager-12 event is set to trigger every month. This should be changed to Status in Annual Ledger and match all the other events of the mangers. Th...

Now that you're "back", does this mean we can expect to see some more scenarios from you? (HINT) :) Probably not. The thing is after making lots of RT2 and RT3 maps there isn't much new ground to cover. May be the reason there where only about 1/3 the number of RT3 maps as there were RT2....

Started Playing again

I just had a game of RT3 after not playing for about a year and a half. It still is fun. I played the Prince of Steel map as I wanted to get heavy into industry and not just string track around. With my new graphics card the game sure looks better than when I last played it. Though I did have about ...
