Re: Writing Events to Count Trains?
Yeah, hiding some engines in that tunnel idea sure sounds like an interesting idea to me. But I think I'll go along with scheme of making a crummy near-useless engine as the only available locomotive for sale. I think I'll use the Dorchester 4-4-0, which really makes sense when you think about it: s...

Re: Writing Events to Count Trains?
Yeah, it's so frustrating trying to get the code just right so that it does what I want it do; feels like I'm painting the Mona Lisa with only a brush held between my toes |--0. Just now I tried to be clever and make a work-around. Unfortunately, there several roadblocks to that idea: I was hoping t...

Re: Writing Events to Count Trains?
I kinda want to keep my scenario private until it's ready to be beta tested, but I can give you some general details about how I was expecting it to work. The primary objective of the scenario is to connect a port city to a bustling city far inland, with the secondary objective of hauling a certain ...

Writing Events to Count Trains?
Quick question: "Can you write an event that counts the number of trains you own?" Basically, I want to limit your ability to purchase locomotives in a scenario I'm building; I'm doing this in the 1.05 version of RT3, if that's of any significance. I've already figured out how to limit wha...

Re: Ban Suspension Bridges
I believe the condition for active territories is that you must have ONE land cell, or the game will consider the territory inactive. The rest of the territory can be underwater. So place a cell on an island or somewhere out of the way, or use another territory such as National Park which has land ...

Ban Suspension Bridges
I've been fooling around with an new map idea for awhile [ Looks at clock. It's 4:41 am. "******..." ], so I've been tweaking and stitching variables and event together, which has got me wondering: Is it possible to ban suspension bridges? Basically, the map I'm working on has a lo...

Re: 0-4-0 "Dorchester"
I just downloaded 7-Zip and was able to extract Lirio's Loco Update Beta files! :-D And when I opened up the "Read Me", I finally found the answer to my question: the modified Planet files were in her update patch! ::!**! Still, I wonder why Just Crazy Jim didn't mention where the modified...

Re: 1.06 Mogul deborkification und skinz (Final)
When I first saw your updated Mogul on the New Engines page, I was intrigued. And after I had skimmed through this thread, I was stunned by how you able to transform this half-baked, ugly-duckling Connie-clone into a gorgeous, unique high-quality locomotive. I was drooling with anticipation as I dow...

Re: 0-4-0 "Dorchester"
Sorry, I guess I didn't make my situation clear enough. What happened was that I had been using the original Dorchester and modified Planet on my old computer, which unfortunately decided to have a heart attack a couple months ago. Fortunately, I was able to find and repair a out-of-commission lapto...

Re: 0-4-0 "Dorchester"
I always enjoy adding more 19th century locomotives to my games, especially the pioneering types. I love the little Dorchester, as it really provides some variety when playing on pre-1840 maps, since the only stock-locomotive selection tends to be pretty meta and boring after awhile (stick with Plan...

Re: Australian steam locos
That's disappointing. I was getting all hyped up about the NSW AD60 and was looking forward to downloading. All well, I guess the SAR GL will have to do... Actually, now that I've thought about it, what about the SAR GMAM ? Overall it is shaped very similarly like the AD60 (although the wheel config...
