Re: Great China 4 challenges
Overhead is based on revenue and size (probably CBV or assets) over time, but no one knows the exact formula. I could only quote what the documentation says. :-) I built a ton of railyard structures (see Harbin pic) and was wondering if they could be responsible for the huge increase in overhead ex...

A Few Pics
Startup with double-track from Harbin to Anshan 1876 Start.jpg I wanted to play with double-track throughout since it's proportionately cheaper than single track and maintenance is also proportionately cheaper. It also sets you up early for a significant loads-hauled figure. Close-up of Harbin in Ja...

Re: Great China 4 challenges
Industry profits are tied to the actual cargo prices on the map which is the same thing that is used to determine rail profits. Industries can be made harder to buy by increasing their price, but actual cuts in industry profits will tend to reduce rail profits as well. The price of industries have ...

Re: Great China 4 challenges
That said, I would like to see what kind of Revenue, Profit and Loads-hauled could be achieved over 150 years on this map ... with particular interest in percentage profit of revenue. Don't know when I'll get a chance to play this one again, but what rules are you proposing? I would like to margina...

@ RulerofRails
I love your non-industry approach to the China4 map ... combined with steam-only. I built paper-mills, flour-mills, textile and machine shop combos in my 2nd year to to acquire 200 million in industry profits (LTD) by the end of 1884. I included Profit, Revenue, Industry-profits and loads-hauled (LT...

Re: Creating a Map from Digital Terrain Data and Google Maps
Looks mighty fine indeed and ... oops! I meant to post in Trans-Siberian Railroad where thietavu is considering a new monster map in Siberia (along partly similar lines to his China map). The graphic for double stacking container looks good but can you double-load a wagon to simulate a change from s...

Re: Trans-Siberian Railroad
Pretty exciting stuff. I loved the Russian map in RT3 ... look fwd to something in TM. There was much talk of a Trans-Siberian railway from Korea and Eastern Asia to Europe (esp for double-stacked containers) ... making the trip 3-times faster than by sea (15 vs 45 days). Railways certainly can't co...

Re: Birth of a Nation (CA01)
I started Trainmaster about a month ago and love the new focus ... but I can't figure out how to become chairman of the Grand Trunk Railway in the Birth of a Nation (CA01) campaign. I've read numerous strategy guides but none covers the possibility of running an AI company. Starting new companies, r...
