Re: NoCD for 1.06?
Sorry Hawk - Win 7 (which I love, mostly). I'm in customer support, I should be better at following directions than this. Just got back after a long day in New Orleans and fired up the No-CD version (my other version was purchased with CDs). Last night it was v1.05. Tonight it is v1.06. So I'm going...

Re: NoCD for 1.06?
Are you serious? I've never heard of that message before. Did you have to reinstall RT3 for some reason? What operating system are you running now? Did you choose the multiple install option? Did you use the no-cd patch I sent you a link to? Did you install the C to C patch, then the 1.05 patch. Di...

Re: NoCD for 1.06?
OK, I have a copy of RRT3 and both CDs. I have the No-CD version installed to save wear & tear. Works great with version 1.05, but I can't upgrade to 1.06 - the installer comes back and says "Patch does not match", then gives me a dialog box that says "Go talk to Milo." Any t...

Re: Northeast Corridor
So I tried starting as the Camden & Amboy - much easier than I had expected. Connected early to Atlantic City and Long Branch, then bought the Reading. Demolished the Reading station in Philadelphia and built a new one between the BWP and the Pennsy, connecting that to the Camden yard via bridge...

Re: Building a bigger, England map (WW1+2) need ideas + help
The map I used for British Miracle is much larger and more accurate than the map of Britain that comes with the game. Feel free to re-purpose it if you like.

Re: North-South Corridor
Orange46 - there is a good place for a station on the west side of Chicago, close enough to have full coverage, and there are usually two places in Memphis, either toward the river or east of town. New Orleans is too crowded for a fifth - that's why you buy one of the companies that already runs th...

Re: American Civil War
I don't have the scenario in front of me - in fact I don't have RRT3 installed on my laptop - but I can answer that in a general way. The event needs to know which company to 'test' against, since the destruction of track should only occur if a particular company - yours - owns track in what is now ...

Re: British Miracle version 3
Altjough i haven't had much time of late, I'd prefer to post the revised and corrected version myself. As I understand it, all that is required is bulldozing and rebuilding the 'European' stations.

Just installed RRT3 on a new tower under Windows 7 with no trouble at all. Runs slick, even on Ultra-High graphics setting. Thanks to all of you for the tips and advice!

Re: British Miracle
'Japanese Miracle' uses electricity generation as a multiplier for all industries including port production of raw materials. 'British Miracle' uses coal transportation in this same way - the more coal you haul the higher the multipliers go. I think if you check you will find there are initial decre...

Re: British Miracle
I want to apologize to everyone for my absence from this discussion. I was called out of town on somewhat short notice for work-related issues and have just ow returned. I was not able to respond to MisterHinton's prior PMs because I wasn't able to duplicate his glitch before I left. I have played '...

Re: Station List and $ Signs
In 'British Miracle' it helps to put two stations in Birmingham to handle the huge volume of traffic. Likewise more than one station is probably necessary for St Louis in 'North-South Corridor'.

Re: British Miracle
I've played through 1860 without any problems. I'll check here on Friday or Saturday to see if you are still having issues. My game has been smooth this time and a lot of fun. I concentrated on building the rail net first and building industry only after I got my coal deliveries up to snuff - the op...

Re: British Miracle
I have never made the transition to 1.06 so all my scenarios are 1.05. I don't know why that would affect your gameplay, as I've never heard of 1.05 games not running under 1.06. So far I'm up to 1850 in my game without any problems. Ordinarily I'd ask you to send me your savegame but I'll be in Dal...

Re: British Miracle
I'm still checking to see if I can reproduce the problem. I've just gotten to 1846 and the Battle of the Gauges; with any luck I'll get through that decade tonight and let you know what I find. This scenario has a lot of things that the AI doesn't like, including all the trackage over 'water'. Physi...

Re: British Miracle
I haven't had any issues with the scenario, but it has been a while sime I played it. I suggest it may be an event firing that is causing the problem. I'll see if I can take a look and get back to you.

Re: Express D'Orient
I've never built a tunnel. I usually run my track along the Danube (Donau). Certainly you can run spurs - or express/freight only trains - or any method that works for you. The purpose of the speed limit is to remind you that this is supposed to be a premiere passenger train line. I didn't want to u...
