Re: Central California
You should have twenty full years to make gold. Whenever you reach a medal requirement for all four goods (i.e. 75, then 100, then 150), it trips a variable for that particular medal. You should have tripped the gold one unless you were able to haul more than 50 loads of something in a single month...

Re: Central California
This one is a toughie, I hit the coffee comfortably, but barely scraped by with Alcohol and meat, quite often my trains would not load because it wasn't profitable but the killer for me was Aluminum and steel. The tool and die up in Bakersfield would stop my trains from loading and use up the Alumin...

Re: Sid Meier
I was a huge fan of Civ and played it for many many hours, it had so much more than SimCity and I became addicted to it, then I found out about RRT and after that Master of Orion. In all of these games I thought that the Original game was the best, although later games had improved graphics, in ever...

Re: Compensation for increasing engine costs
Would you agree that the engine cost should be adjusted by game year? My suggestion is setting it to 200% before 1850, 150% from 1850-1899, 100% from 1900-1950, 75% from 1950-1999, and 50% from year 2000. This would make sense because industrial development and expired patents make old engine model...

Re: My recent lack of success
In my home I do the cooking and my wife leaves me to my PC whilst she watches TV. This is why she didn't complain when I went out to buy my new machine, I very cunningly fed her a non Weight Watcher meal so she was in a good mood when I went shopping.

Re: Global Warming or Cooling?
I think that its a very difficult thing to be an exutor the remaining family seem to think that this very stressful job is a pice of cake and all you have to do is A B and C and then distribute the money. Some estates take a year or more to settle. Hawk your wife should tell these contrary people to...

Re: Highscore List
The cost of the addiction is, of course, the time spent playng RT3. I console myself on this point by saying that it balances the time others spend on Facebook, e-mails and video games. Can you belive that my wife thinks I am playing video games when I play RRT. Its no use explaining that this is n...

Re: Economy status?
In the one case, I did not have any alternative other than giving up. No more bonds could be issued. Issuing stock would only make it worse. No more stock buybacks could be made with no company cash. And I finally failed to make a margin call and lost most if not all the stock. Also a recession tha...

Re: Economy status?
The economy will frequently go from boom to bust and back again, if you get yourself set up for it then it plays into your hands. Max out on bonds when it is booming and the interest rate is only 5% and always try to buy as much stock as possible when you are in a recession. The balancing act of spe...

Re: Windows 7 and RRT3 Success
Well, I finally managed to patch up to 1.05, by unzipping the patches first, then renaming the RRT3 exe, ver 1.00 and the same for ver C to C and dragging the new files across to overwrite. All should now be peaches and cream but for a minor little problem it crashes and won't play at all. I shall c...

Re: Windows 7 and RRT3 Success
So I bit the bullet and squandered my hoarded little cache of cash and purchased an i5 750 system with a 64 bit win 7 O/S in the boxing day sales I have a 1 gb nvidea card and I should now be able to play a nearly 8 year old PC game, I got home and loaded it up with RRT 3 and it plays pretty good ap...

This is one of those occasions when a stipulated rule should have been bent or worked around for the benefit of the already inconvenienced passengers, the problem really lies not with the train crew, but with the the dispatcher who sent a relief train that could not fulfill the duties in the time re...

Now this an impressive map I dread to think of how long it would take to make such an interesting map and I loved all the survey details, a great job, I think I tried to play this a long time ago and the machine I had could not handle the detail I wouldn't mind but I'm getting ready to buy a new mac...

Re: (a Eng) Balkania
Ok so it didn't matter about the industry profits being off, I still made it in plenty of time , although to be honest, I would not like to ride on the track I laid, it was brutal especially in the mountains, which pretty much means everywhere, and when I did find a flat piece I couldn't lay track b...

Very weird. Didn't electrify but with better strategy had no trouble making speed on 2nd attempt but still couldn't get enough passengers despite dozens of custom consist priority trains - mostly sitting at stations   Finished with around 750 carried. Had some hotels etc to encourage pa...

Re: (a Eng) Balkania
I am playing this map at the moment and I think I will make all the targets but the industry profits seem to be off by a tad. On the income ledger I show lifetime industrial profit at 63 million but on the goals page it says I have 11 million in industry profit. Is it only certain industries or terr...

Re: Typical RT3 Game
I advocate always starting a RT3 game by building an industry base - regardless of the game goals. Then add rail to a 3 city network. Then invest in industry again. Then expand rail, and so on. This alternating approach is the best mix. This is the most successful way to play the game, and you will...

Re: The Hub #2 - Military
I fixed up the track and then I can run trains , but I don't understand why the the routes I set up prior to this would not work, they were miles away from the break. Ahh well its your scenario you make the rules and I should be a little more diligent, but I still have the crash to desktop happening ...
