Re: Talyllyn Railway

That was a treat, it makes you realise just how those first trains in RRT scenarios would have looked back in the day. Not to mention that at the time this movie was made, I looked like one of those little boys in the little shorts and caps, oh my word I had a chuckle over that, I seem to remember h...

Re: The Hub #2 - Military

I keep crashing to the desktop after about 4 or 5 months, and even though I have been given the right to the military network I can't run trains on the pre laid track. So my question is, Is anyone else having a problem ? what have you changed in scenario 2 because I was able to play pirates fine. Is...

Re: TheHub #1 : Pirates

First time around I did pretty much the same as everyone else and didn't send my trains out early enough to get the ammunition and weapons flowing. The second time it was taking so long to get the industry profit, that I scrapped it, and third time around I concentrated on hotels and restaurants, lo...

Re: What a person is worth?

There are two thoughts to selecting care for cancer patients. One is to plot his existing condition on a graph and give him only the care that may benefit him. The other thought is to give him as much as he can take regardless of what other patients have done with similar treatment. The American So...

Re: What a person is worth?

Would that be a lifetime limit or a per illness limit. Its one of those things that might make sense to an ivory tower Bureaucrat but in practice it would be impractical. Do you forbid a child to have open heart surgery when it could mean a productive life of many years, and do you turn down a pensi...

I'm sitting here and thinking that it will be December soon, the cold winds are going to be blowing, there is snow forecast up north, and plucking pink grapefruit from a tree in Arizona sounds like a pretty good idea. I don't suppose you have a spare room for 3 or 4 months do you Pat ?

Arboria 2

I remember playing Arboria quite a while back so I thought I would check out version 2 to see what it was like, its a long one from 1875 to 1955 ,and after about 1895 when all the connections were made there wasn't too much to do except check out the industry situation every now and then to see if a...

Re: Luzithania

If you're going to correct and issue Version2 suggest that IP could go up to (say) $1bn which is easily achievable - in fact essential to reach the CBV target because railing only brings in so much. PNW could also go up but only to (say) $250m - I had reached this but then had it go back down to $1...

Re: Panic flu

I think there may be some truth to the suggestion that people who get the annual vaccine for seasonal flu are being hit harder. I know 3 others who have this and they all get the annual vaccine and they are twice as bad off as I was. Who ever would have thought that taking preventative measures cou...

Glad to hear you are doing so well Ned, we are just across the bay from you and my wife had it pretty bad for about 10 days, she is recovering now but still isn't 100%. I had the regular flu vaccine last year [ doctors orders ] but I haven't been punctured this year as yet.

Re: Do you place misc buildings?

If I am playing a scenario that has heavy passenger traffic I place hotels etc in my hubs, its the highest return on capital that you can get in the game and unlike industry, which can become less profitable over time hotels can be real long term money spinners.

I had no real problems when I first had bifocals, as I recall I became comfortable using them very quickly. I was an avid reader so after a couple of days I was very happy to use them and not have to change glasses every time I wanted to read something. I do remember driving seemed a little weird at...

Re: Weather effects on gameplay?

Have you noticed that if you start a scenario in 1850, and continue to play for a whole century, belching smoke out of steamers the whole time, that the RRT3 climate will change? The storms become more fierce, and the average temperature goes up by like 5 degrees. Some of the more tropical farms st...

Re: Weather effects on gameplay?

I can see oilcans point, the Tycoonatrons religion is not to be taken lightly, after all churches do increase passenger traffic, so at least they are attending services, which is more than can be said for this reality. I was surprised at Grandma Ruths comment, she may live to regret her hasty commen...

Re: Esoteric Questions on the Economy

I'm new here, been playing the game for just over a month. I think it's safe to say RT III has become my favorite game of all time, moving the still awesome Master of Orion down to the number two spot after about 15 year on top. I think RRT has to come out on top because we are still playing new sc...

You will enjoy this forum and site that's for sure, Hawk seems to have The Definitive RRT Site, when I joined a year or so ago I spent many happy hours reading all the old posts, Hawks bio, the picture gallery all good stuff, in fact I spent more time reading than I did playing, add to that all of t...

I voted never use cheat codes but of course I haven't played Trainmaster yet, from what I have been reading, its quite possible that my morals will come under heavy pressure.
waiting for the final release.
