Re: Italian Toymakers - Beta
Is it worth playing, or should we wait for a new version? Definitely worth playing. !*th_up*! .To be honest I see no reason to change anything in the map at all but then its not my country, and I am looking at it from a gameplay point of view. Its interesting and there is more than one way of playi...

Re: Italian Toymakers - Beta
I got booted out of the job just after meeting the men from Corsica, it was a bad year for me, I missed the wool the passenger count and the toys thank goodness there was no skyscraper nearby to jump from. !hairpull! I am not very knowledgeable about Italy but I am enjoying the scenario, this is a g...

Re: Central California
Ray this scenario is entirely different if you play it in 1.06. You are able to ship for no profit or even at a loss in 1.06. In 1.05 the train won't leave the station unless it will make a profit. So you have to move the goods away from the receiving cities to ship more. So if you want an easier gam...

Re: Sahara (my new map)
I thought I would give it a try starting in Ghana, I laid electric track and concentrated on rails with a couple of hotels. My first industry was after I connected to Dakar,I built an oil refinery by a single oil well in the bottom right hand corner of the map but it didn't give me anywhere near eno...

But it was the Crashes. Well, both in the economy and the engines. Everything went well with them for the first few years, and then..BBBBOOOOMMMM. *!*!*! Just a good thing that there were not any earthquakes to help wipe out track or depots. LOL I did not have any problems with the "custom&quo...

Re: Central California
wolverine I liked your strategy. :salute: How I missed on the "dividend in Dec" trick is beyond me, its a little wrinkle to this game that I have used before a long long time ago but had forgotten all about. I must be getting old and stuck in a rut, I really must review the strategy sectio...

Re: Bridging the Mississippi
I haven't played any further as yet but I thought I should mention that at the beginning I had read this thread and I started by micromanaging my trains and I got nowhere. I tried varying amounts of milk but the payoff just wasn't big enough for me to get going. Instead I laid rail between pairs of ...

Re: Bridging the Mississippi
Sugas I am playing this on expert right now and I have just seen the conditions for gold and my little laptop is chugging unbelievably so I am not sure if I will be able to finish it. Not that I think I can achieve gold, it seems unsurmountable. !hairpull! Regarding the bridge, I connected everythin...

Re: Central California
You will find that in a lot of scenarios you are only allowed to start one company or the map maker puts in penalties to avoid " Tycooning" In the days of the real railroad tycoons when the stock market was not controlled these things happened to real investors. You start with your initial...

I can't top that. I used the approach of industry first, because those two recessions killed me. How did you get those results? and do you give lessons ?Wolverine@MSU wrote:Here's what I had at the end of December in the 20th year:

Central California
MY first attempts at this map left me broken I could manage the bronze and even silver but gold seemed out of reach. This scenario is written to be played in 1.05 and as such trains will not leave the station if its not profitable to haul the cargo. The gold targets are 150 each. Alcohol,Meat,Coffee...

Re: Central California
If you're interested in trying Trainmaster, I could probably come up with some instructions with pictures which might help. Do you know how to have seperate copies of RT3 for version 1.05 and version 1.06? As I understand it Trainmaster uses large maps which I am sure would be quite beyond this lit...

Re: Central California
Thanks for all the help guys. Blackhawk I downloaded the Photo Philtre, its a nice small program that will do the job nicely. I will be erasing all my stuff from this machine when I get back home so it makes no sense to go for the full featured app.. A question Hawk, I can save the picture as a jpg,...

Thanks Blackhawk I will buckle down and see what I can do, I don't have quicktime on this machine but I'm sure I can figure something out with one of your other options.

If anyone gets gold, I demand to see a screenshot of the status window will all four products over 150! :) JB I hit gold on expert again this evening . I reached the haulage goals in Nov 68, but I didn't receive the gold medal until the end of 70 by which time I had hauled Alcohol 205 Meat 202 Coff...

Re: Central California
Sugus, I concur with everyone of your changes and will implement them into my map. All except the breakdowns, of course. I'm sure the actual Southern Pacific railroad company would have LOVED to be able to turn off breakdowns also :) Maybe it's an expert thing (I always play on normal), but I've ne...

Re: Central California
If you can open it in 1.05 then it must have been written in 1.05, and thus should be played there. I too started it in 1.06, but will go back with the updated version and play it in 1.05 just to be fair. It would be easier to meet the haulage goals in 1.06, the trains not loading because of them n...

Re: Central California
Odd because on RT6 if you use custom consist trains should carry cargo at a loss if necessary unlike original RT3 and early patches. Also its awfully common to get a year longer because this is the automatic way that the builder does it so a finish on 1st Jan has to be built in specifically and mos...
