Re: Another Connie (coz we need an uglier one)
It is a bit ugly, but I think I could grow to love it. Just paint it green and call it "The Incredible Hulk".

Re: Cargo weight revamping: express/freight differences
The tip I am going to impart here is one of limited usefulness. It really hangs by the nail of the over all contrast of the base texture. Sometimes this is a quick and dirty that works, mostly not, but when it does, it works a charm. Method 1. • Make a new layer by copying the base texture. • Desatu...

Re: Cargo weight revamping: express/freight differences
There's some variation in the color of cinnabar, the most common kind in Europe, hepatic cinnabar, being the one most often used for paint in Europe, is more like oxblood - a sort of purple-red or brownish-red. The Near East and Chinese have "true", "superior", "Arabian"...

Re: Cargo weight revamping: express/freight differences
Taking into consideration that there were 4 readily available pigments for making red paint before the 20th century: Crimson, Carmine, Red Ochre, and Ox blood, the image is based on restoration work at Colonial Williamsburg and Historic Jamestowne in Virginia. But, the methodology of making paint di...

Re: Transport Fever
My thoughts on Transport Fever are that it looks good, but feels like it was sent to market before completion. I found the user interface to be a bit crude and cumbersome. If you can get around that defect, it's an otherwise entertaining game for the sort of players that like micromanagement and cit...

Re: Acceleration comparison ft. Distance Traveled
In the real world, a locomotive may exceed the top speed on a negative grade, I'm not sure that would be the case in RT3. From what I have seen, the top speed is the highest velocity a given locomotive can ever achieve. Yup. Trains in RT3 will never exceed the top speed defined in the.lco file, eve...

Very pretty beauty shots and excellent deborking, Sir Gumboots. I got distracted looking at all the skins in-game before posting a reply, so RoR beat me to the punch.

Re: Evil Genius at work
I did consider the Lamborghini logo when I was doing the texture. I couldn't manage a bull that looked much like a bull. The best I managed was a sad looking thing that, at best, looked like a water buffalo needing a chiropractor.

Brilliant, thank you!
I went round and round with the editor trying to get the money and shares owned to the values I wanted. I never hit upon any combination without making things easier than I wanted.
Your suggestions are pure gold.

Re: Acceleration comparison ft. Distance Traveled
My very rusty high school maths and physics find no fault with your formula. That being stated, here are some ideas to consider. I do remember that velocity (v) is the term used to express the speed of an object in motion at any given time. How this relates to Top Speed in-game may break the rules o...

For the moment, in my fit of madness, even though I am going Duck Dodgers, a terrifying moment of reality passed over me.

*snork* ^**lylgh Once on our way to my grandparent's house in Detroit, we passed a car wash that had a sign that said "Polish Entrance" and I wondered aloud why they made people from Poland use a separate entrance. Just goes to show that context is everything !facepalm! Lovely! When...

Re: Chip Off The Old Block
A clever use of the terrain, RoR. Ever since I saw the post about zero-grade bridges, I have tried to make every bridge zero-grade when I can. Most maps are not friendly to this sort of bridge, but a surprising number (to me at least) are. I never thought to approach the PNW goals by using the bonus...

Re: Mars has no coal and likely no oil
True, but as things stand currently, our options are 1. Mars. Unless we want to go all "Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century" in a magical universe where we manage to travel faster than the speed of light. And then, ever model and industry in the game is still an anachronism.

Mars has no coal and likely no oil
It occurred to me as I was posting in this thread last night that, based on what we know, that being that Mars never had a Carboniferous Period and its liquid water on the surface was so short lived that it likely never had massive quantities of zooplankton in whatever seas it may have had, "Ma...
