Re: Screenshot sharing?

Looks OK to me. I used the "attachment" tab to post it. Oh, I see what you mean, I can see the "image" icon at the top of the screen. Yes if you were to use that, you would have to click on the button then that would give you: img and /img (in square brackets) and then you would ...

Re: Hello Everyone - good to be here

Hi Bill - glad to have you with us. I did the same thing when I got Windows 10 and was delighted to find that it worked. There is a forum about installation here: viewforum.php?f=82 so that's where to post your notes if you like. I think they would be very useful.

Re: Hi there

Depends what you mean by an "easy scenario" - easy landscape or easy to win? Or both? I did once try to do a sort of tutorial scenario but my daughter never really had the time for gaming. She says she might take it up when she retires !!!!!!!!!!!! That's really depressing, thinking about ...

Re: East of Mississippi

I never play Orient Express like that. I run express almost from the start, and never have any problem maintaining the required speed. I'm tempted to have another try: I know how to play now a lot better than I did then. (Thanks to all the advice here!) But my own website https://www.my-familytree....

Re: East of Mississippi

Finally I have reached the end of the "Coast to Coast" expansion games. This was my last one, and it gave me a run for my money! The goals are deceptively simple but the more loads you haul, the less your average speed will be, as kingecbert points out. You don't need to worry about Compan...

Re: Eastern China

I am playing this in 2023: it feels really uncomfortable playing a game where Wuhan is the prime location. When this scenario was created, of course nobody had any inkling of what role Wuhan would play in real life a bit further down the track. Spooky! However, I enjoyed the game and its interesting...

Re: Ireland

Well, the most challenging thing about this scenario was working out how to correct its faults! Like everyone else, I soon realised it was wrong - but not till after I'd started hauling grain with a vengeance! I changed the briefing, the status page and, as an afterthought, the timing of the Gold ev...

Re: Louisiana!

I was a bit apprehensive about a scenario with no stocks or bonds, which I usually rely on. But it was OK, as it turned out. The plan was to make the haulage requirement and the new Orleans/St Louis connection, then make loadsamoney and finally do a burn track with small stations to connect all the ...

Re: Pacific Northwest

What the Dickens is "stack and dump" ?????? Another thing I probably thought I invented, no doubt! I did a sort of relay with the livestock - took them to a station somewhere near Boise, then that train went back for more and a new long-distance train took them on to the meat plants. Is th...

Re: Pacific Northwest

I didn't know "bait and switch" was a real thing, I thought I invented it! I had got as far in my thinking as that I would have to take stuff to places other than Seattle, but I didn't want to "waste" the cargoes. Of course now you've said it, it's obvious. Seattle can be the who...

Re: Pacific Northwest

“Only God can make a tree” – or in our case the Random Number Generator. So the thing that limits success in this scenario are the logging camps. Cattle ranches aren’t so much of a problem. I wanted to win without going into Canada or using any of the “robber baron” schemes, so my first job was to f...

@Orange46, remember we had a good time tweaking one of your RT3 scenarios, and almost met in person? Happy days!

Re: Alternate USA

I think this is something to do with what version you've got. My "Alternate Alternate USA" is for RT3 with the 1.06 patch. So it won't show up in the unmodified RT3 version. (I was pretty confused at the time, and even more so now!) But that's what I think you need to do.
