Re: Missing some skins
Yep. I'll try picking out every .PK4 that has "GP7" or "GP3x" in the file name on the laptop, and compare them to the PC. Will share the results here, if that's okay.

Missing some skins
I seem to be missing some skins for the GP35 and GP7. They are on my laptop (which crashes when I run RRT3 for more than a few minutes {Vista}). I was looking for them on the site, but no luck. If anybody knows what file they would be in I can copy that file from the laptop to this PC and have my ow...

We bought a "new" WinXP box just to run games like RRT3 and Diablo 2. With an upgraded video card and the paging file residing on a flash drive, this baby flies!

Re: Seattle's Light Rail, new Problem
Kick me in the head for asking, but why could we handle this type of technology in 1909 but not in 2009? Has the human race degenerated that far? Back in those days, if you weren't one of the huge number of people who could walk to work, you could walk a few blocks to the trolley, take the trolley t...

Re: Real-world Train Question
There's a person who sits in the last car and has a front view of the train as it goes backwards. I'm not sure how much control he has on the train, but his booth has some levers and buttons with lights. A lot of these commuter trains have what are known as "cab control" cars- the enginee...

I'm sorry for your loss.
A buddy of mine came home from work today to find that his father had passed away (they share digs.) He didn't even get a chance to say goodbye.

Re: Real-world rail project-update
Thanks, Hawk. Will keep you in mind. Cool software isn't always the solution. The other night I spent ten or fifteen minutes trying to use Google Sketchup (3D modeling software) to make a disc with a hole in it like a donut. !hairpull! I finally gave up and dug out the ol' drafting board and tools. ...

Real-world rail project-update
Hey gang! Just wanted to let everybody know what is going on. Equus Ferrius Corporation is now a legal business entity in New York. We have a first draft of the design document for our biomass fueled locomotive complete- think GP30 repowered with a boiler in place of the prime mover and steam turbin...

Looking for GP30 info and copyright-free pix
Hey gang! I'm working on some concept drawings of the prototype locomotive we're planning on building. 1. Question: The rear section of the locomotive- are those the dynamic braking grids or the diesel radiators? If somebody knows a good site with the internals and specs for a GP30, that woul...

Re: For WP&P and everyone else too.
Congratulations. Sorry to disappoint you, but don't order those coal scoops yet. Our first generation of modern steam locomotives are going to use rebuilt diesel chassis, and have automatic underfeed stokers, so no hand firing. Once we sell enough of those, we will branch out into replica steam loco...

Re: Looking for an artist to do a 3D prototype
Thanks anyway. Color scheme for the factory (tenatively) is safety orange over black, with the current FRA standard lighting and Scotch-Lite striping. The actual unit we're looking at for the prototype is this GP30: http://www.ozarkmountainrailcar.com/soogp30715.htm Model will need AAR type B ("...

Re: Looking for an artist to do a 3D prototype
Thanks, Hawk. D'oh! I should know better. I have been getting a bit frazzled, as we just found out about a major funding opportunity- but we need to have our business plan and draft design document done by MAY 20th!!! !*00*! !hairpull! Did I mention that our COO, the Chief Engineer, and myself are a...

Looking for an artist to do a 3D prototype
Hey, gang! We're still going ahead with this insane real-world project. We will be looking for an artist to reskin/redetail a locomotive in a 3D format to match what our prototype will look like. For example, it might be a GP-16 with Alco trucks, repainted to our company color scheme, with our compa...

Internet Explorer 7.0 failing
Anybody else having trouble with IE7? I know, I know, "switch to Firefox" but other people than me use the PC. It's been crashing regularly the last month or so, and the last week has been locking up often- I have to ctrl-alt-delete and kill it through Task Manager. Suggestions?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Dishwashing Detergent ban in Washington
Of note in one article I saw was that people are running their dishwashers on the "pots & pans" cycle to try to get the dishes clean, increasing their electricity and water consumption to do the same amount of dishes. Darn that law of unintended consequences! It's like people flushing ...
