Re: New Railroad Game...Overdue

I tried downloading Train Fever yesterday, and found it a mess to install. I have already asked for a refund of my money. :-(

Re: Train Fever - Railway Game in Development

:-? This looks interesting because: 1) RR Tycoon is not really designed for modern (Windows 7) computers and 2) This is a simulation, not a train driving program.

Question: Are there any other simulation games --- download or online --- that resemble RR Tycoon?

Train Station Watches Were Just the Beginning.

Little known bit of railroad history: If you were in the market for a watch in 1880, would you know where to get one? You would go to a store, right? Well, of course you could do that, but if you wanted one that was cheaper and a bit better than most of the store watches, you went to the train stati...

Re: Open Rails, the new Railroad Simulator of the future

Somehow, I have lost my MSTS files --- probably when I cleaned my hard drive out.

Two questions:
1) How or where can I download MSTS?
2) When do you plan to have a version of Open Rails that does not depend on having MSTS installed?

Re: Editor Crashes under Windows XP

KevinL, you may be right. But since I am having no other Windows XP problems of any kind with any other program, I do not want to mess around with the operating system. ("Not broke, don't fix it" theory.) Thanks.

Re: Editor Crashes under Windows XP

I think I will drop this for now. When I get around to it, I will reload all the software and maybe design a different scenario other than the one I have been working on forever. Right now I am replaying Eastern China, which is in my opinion the best scenario in the game other then Coast-to-Coast. I...

OK. Hopefully I attached the error log properly. I have never done this before.

Re: Editor Crashes under Windows XP

Sorry, nedfrumpkin, our messages crossed. Thanks for the information. I think I installed everything in the correct order last time, including 1.05, but it is over a year ago, so I cannot be certain. As far as the log files, I checked both of them. They are undated and totally meaningless to me. It ...

Re: Editor Crashes under Windows XP

OK, I checked this out while awaiting your reply --- and also downloaded them all.

But this still doesn't answer my question. Is this problem unique to me?

Re: Editor Crashes under Windows XP

It is a ways back since I did this, but I think I followed the instructions exactly. If nobody else is having the problem, the first obvious thing to do is to uninstall everything again. Then I would reinstall RTIII, Coast-to-Coast, Version 1.06 in that order --- correct? Right now the key question ...

Editor Crashes under Windows XP

I build new scenarios or revise existing ones from time to time using the Editor. I am using Windows XP (no Vista for me) and Version 1.06. The Editor crashes periodically --- really crashes, shutting off my computer completely. I have no other Windows XP problems, no other program crashes, and no v...

New Map: Australia All the Way

Hawk has just posted my new Australia All the Way scenario to his web site. I would love having some of you download and play it and give me feedback. It is designed for Version 1.06. You can find it at: http://hawkdawg.com/rrt/rrt3/map_arch/rt3_australia.htm Thanks . . . Looking forward to hearing ...

Re: Recommended Mod Tools

Sorry, didn't word my question clearly. I know it is easy to change the name just by typing in a new one. What I want is that the default name that comes up in the first place is different. (Right now it always comes up "Carolina Southern". I would like it to come up "Worldwide Export...

Re: Recommended Mod Tools

I would like to change the default name that comes up each time I start my company. (You can change the player, but the company always comes up the same.) Any "simple" solution to this question?

Re: Monitor problem solved --- hope this is helpful

Thanks for all the kind words of welcome. As recommended, I reinstalled the Coast-to-Coast patch and then reinstalled the v1.05 patch. Everything looks good. On to v1.06.

Monitor problem solved --- hope this is helpful

I am the newest member of this forum. I was about to post a plaintive request for help. But voila, I tried one last thing and it worked. I would like to share it with you because it might be helpful. I just purchased a new Dell computer with Windows XP installed (no Vista for me). I also installed R...
