Hex editing house.

I'd like to play around with house buildings, to increase the demand.

I have the building planner spreadsheet but I just cannot get the values to correspond with the house demands. The float - hex is really confusing.

Can anyone help with a step by step?

Electric plants are good for places where coal and oil converge, but no iron to make steel, so might as well put the coal to use. I've thought of making a new coal liquefaction plant where 1 coal = 1 oil, right now I just use a warehouse recipe.

The track&trains event has effects sand usage + 0, overall track cost + 0. Is this just to setup the modifiers? Other effects in the event have increases or decreases.

I noticed that too, settings in a file do not really affect the behaviors. its the modifiers that can potentially wreak a map.

An increase of 10-100 % seems ok. The increases in poptop maps are like 20% so its not too bad. I tried long ago to push the modifier so high, the e-88 speed went from 300 to 999 mph. this was when the bug happened. I just passed it off as the train needing a long stopping distance, like heavy freig...

Building density was tuned down, I think the map maker didnt really like that poptop maps were quite easy late game, with lots of industry to buy. The weapons to lucknow can be quite hard since most of the weapon ports are quite a distance. Using freight only trains might help - takes abt 6 months t...

Troops are usually hard to haul, and keeping the barracks around requires alcohol or weapons or munitions. If the map's speed modifier is too high, the trains start behaving strangely. The train will pass its destination, and the journey progress bar will recede backwards until its gone. I've seen Electronics cargo appear before the factory becomes buildable. Pharma factory is buildable before chemicals appear. Any idea how to tinker this?

I also meant all the other changes/suggestions earlier in this thread, are they part of the patch or a separate download? Like the dye to hides suggestion.

Just a quick note for this map. The city connected total shorts out because that event is tested against all players. Setting it to just on screen player makes it work correctly. Perhaps a note in the scenario build guide to remind makers for win/lose events to be tested against just humans/ on scre...
