Re: Coast to Coast 1.04 crashing the game.
If you look on the Steam site their version of the game won't work with windows 10 or anything later than Vista! - Steam don't seem capable of getting old games to work on modern operating systems so you mey well waste your money. the notice says "Notice: This game is not compatible with Window...

That link appears to be to an orphaned page and the link on that page seems to be from before the files being hosted outside the site on mediafire.RulerofRails wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 10:48 pm ........
PS. The no-cd on the main site is giving me a 404 error when I try to download it.

Re: Hello!
does this post in the steam community help? https://steamcommunity.com/app/7610/discussions/0/1479857071265502095/ I think this means in your steam application under library right click on Railroad Tycoon 3? select properties and local files to get to the maps folder and copy the unzipped map file i...

Re: RT3 no longer loads after Coast to Coast update Win10 'Wrong disk' error
Firstly this is a 20 year old game when monitors were typically 4:3 ratio and around 1024x768. I've seen hacks to hexedit configuration files to get higher resolutions but never tried them. You may get strange effects. The game wasn't designed for modern PCs and Graphics cards. I prefer to play olde...

Re: RT3 no longer loads after Coast to Coast update Win10 'Wrong disk' error
as far as I recall the GOG version of RT3 already has coast to coast installed. Installing Coast to Coast on top of the GOG version will then require the disk versions disk to be in the drive. I think the GOG version is 1.05 and contains the coast to coast map etc. and is patched not to need a CD. C...

Gwizz
Long time users of the forums here may remember Gwizz who made several maps mainly for RTII. He hasn't posted here for several years and also disappeared from the Terminal website in 2017. This obituary https://curnowfuneralhome.com/tribute/details/176610/Gerald-Meyer/obituary.html has been passed o...

Re: A few small changes.
Thanks - I don't think the URL for all the RT2 stuff was on the current website, or maybe i got confused and missed it. That first URL is exactly what's needed

Re: A few small changes.
Each file on Mediafire for RT2 seems to be a separate URL for each download so all the current links from this site are unique (try a download as a standard hawkdog user). I can't understand which folder you are referring to ? I think there's not just 1 folder. Before changing anything perhaps you c...

Re: Just got the game off of steam and cant play it,
Steam say on their website RT3 (from them) works on XP only and not on vista or windows 7. They should also say it doesn't work on windows 10 either. They don't seem to care they carry games that are unlikely to work on a modern computer with an up to date operating system nor do they seem capable o...

copy ALL the files to a safe place and just reinstall from original media (and patch up if required) then copy back all files but the maps you changed.

Re: RRT3 on Windows 10 via Steam
the GOG.com version (site at https://www.gog.com ) will probably be easier to start with if you need to buy - install outside the program files folder though. Install it via the offline installer download rather tha the GOG galaxy version. I've not tried it with 1.06 but GOG installs are easier to p...

Re: RT3 running on Windows 10
Hey guys, Been playing RRT3 on an old XP PC but now I'm investigating how to do it on windows 10 as Steam will no longer work in XP, I have found several work arounds for most of the legacy games I play BUT this is the only place I can find clear information about getting RRT3 working, only problem...

Re: Asking for a Little Help
Well I tried but results don't look very good :-( but the map looks very flat when I look at the pictures so may not be what you were expecting) Tried to change the contrast etc. on the file but doesn't look promising. hopefully someone else can do better....... I've also attached the colour version...

Finally Got there after 13 years!
I started the campaign the week the game came out in 2003. I never managed to get further than the first few showcases before I gave up. !hairpull! - I just couldn't get into the game probably because I wanted a rail game and didn't consider the industrial side too much. Over the years I kept playin...

In the 7 years since I entered my age into the poll (2009) I've aged (and slowed) by 2 age groups, retired from work and often have to get up in the night. BUT at least there's no need to rush out in the mornings.

Re: Just found a shortcut in the .exe!
The shift option was added in the 1.03 patch so its not in the manual. In the history.rtf file its documented at point 37 for 1.03 changes under Single player new features. Its surprising what you can learn from re-reading the manual and the documentation files with the game. Whenever I re-read them...
