Re: Hi, I'm Monika
Proud Canadian - No, even us Canucks can't even come close to the masters of Germany. :salute: If you want the best beer in the world, you go to Germany. If you want the best wine in the world, you go to France. If you want the best rum in the world, you go to Jamaca. If you want the best cigar in ...

Re: Hi, I'm Monika
Hello Monika and welcome aboard. 1 or 2 beers a night huh? Didn't even have to tell us that after you said you were German we already knew. But of course if we had good beer like that over here in the western hemisphere, I would be drinking one or 2 a night also. Proud Canadian dont you get started ...

Vid/Monitor issue I cant figure out
Pardon me but could someone possibly help me out with this problem? I have a samsung syncmaster 955 DF monitor running at a refresh rate of 75 hertz. My old vid card blew it's capacitors and I had to install a Radeon HD 2400 pro vid card. Everything worked fine till I tried to play RRT3 and when on ...

Re: A possible answer to the high divorce rate?
Nice try, wont work though. Wont take long till a spouse realises that a handgun costs $100 and a dovorce costs 10,000. Though maybe we should make it a real pain to get married. That way they bond going through all the aggrivation. If they can handle a messy marriage, then they will stick together ...

Been with windows ever since my old amiga 600. One i am forced to take Vista or nothing. I will be moving to linux forever. Sorry it happened to you. Hope you can find that file. Though knowing Vista it probably hid it in a vista root directory and sent a secret download to microsoft claiming it is ...

Re: RRT3 Going Nukular
I was going to say Atomic Annie. The US Army's 280 mm cannon that fired a nuclear warhead but I just checked and found that of the 30 made. None were ever mounted on rail cars. Only a duel truck setup where one driver drove backwards. How about working in photo cells. The original nukes used them to...

Re: College degrees not important
And, lastly, I bet if you compared union boss salaries to union worker salaries, you'd find a similar statistic as said by Penn Minuteman's BBC report. (I couldn't comment on this. But I wouldn't surprise me if they did make that much) Unions are nothing more than a necessary evil when businesses ge...

Re: Causing Trouble On The Railfan Site
Yes I understand that the technology would be complex. But the question that needs to be asked is simply 'is our world progressing towards the point where we don't need heavy hydrogen but only normal hydrogen to fuse?'. I do see stronger materials coming out that may withstand the pressure of compre...

Re: College degrees not important
One nursing home I passed thru back in the late 90s early 2000s was S.E.U.I.(or was that S.E.I.U.). I had to join the union, then because I put quality into my work they tried to get me fired while I was paying them $33 a month dues. Reason to get me fired was I was making the other's in my departme...

Re: Causing Trouble On The Railfan Site
May I ask a question? It kinda off the wall, but stays with the steam comeback idea. I read back about a year ago that France inked a 13 billion dollar deal to build the world's 1st fusion reactor. Now from what I understand of reactors. They all produce heat which is captured by water passing over ...

Re: CFL bulbs (Compact fluorescent lamps)
Yes, all florescent bulbs/tubes have trace amounts of mercury. Mercury in larger amounts build up in the brain and can cause problems that resemble mental instability. In the 1800s beaver skin hats were the rage in Europe. But beaver skins are impervious to water. So the shape the brim of the hat by...

Crean describes the device as a chip located "way in the machine, right near the laser" that embeds the dots when the document "is about 20 billionths of a second" from printing. "Standard mischief won't get you around it," Crean adds. Hmmmm I wonder if Crean worked for...

I nteresting topic here. May I add my 2 cents? I am no college grad. Got my G.E.D. after 12th grade and walked away from education. Re: Alternate USA
Hello all, I have been trying to beat this scenario on easy. My 1st time at gold medal came 4 years after the listed date I had to finish by. (The game keeps going after it is suppose to end). The 1st time, I ended up with 150 to 160 trains to get the gold. The 2nd time I ended up with 250 trains bu...
