I was asking because I keep getting a prompt that IE7 is available for download. I have automatic updates set to notify me but not to download or install. That's the way I have mine set up too. I like to pick and choose what updates to install, not have a vendor take control and install what they w...

Maybe instead of just coming up with cargoes to add, we need to think about whole cargo chains as bomber did above. So far we've heard about: Gravel/Sand -> Cement -> Buildings Gold/Siver -> Mint (Money) -> Banks Copper -> Wire -> Buildings/Cable Companies/Phone Co./Electrified Track Stone/Sand -> P...

In any case I am so far happy with the system even though I noticed that my system does not even have a Printer Port as standard equipment anymore. Have to add that. I am also still struggling to connect both of my computers together. Must be that darn Firewall that is giving me problems. More fidd...

I voted to fix it too. It seems that most of the things that people wanted fixed can be fixed in the sort or long run, and with 90% of the game already in place and to most folk's liking, it seems a waste of time to start from scratch.

I think PCX dimensions refer to the way RT2 converted the heightmap (in PCX format) dimensions to the game map dimensions. For RT3 maps it refers to the dimensions of the TGA heightmap. It probably doesn't influence anything when making RT3 maps unless you are making a game map that has different di...

How about making one "standard" loco pack, that contains only the essentials, thus staying within the game's limits; and several, optional add-ons that will feature complete sets of regional engines, while pushing the game into uncharted territory? I like this idea, especially if each &qu...

I think it only counts loads as they arrive. So you are correct Lama that 0.9 loads is 0 loads and the 0.9 never get credited. Likewise 1.9 loads will get counted as 1 load and the remainder is "lost and gone forever" (my darling Clementine). It would be nice to define the variables as flo...

By "saved games" do you mean particular scenarios that are being played and saved while playing, or any of the scenarios that have been created so far. If the former, I have no problem with that since I only save games until I'm done playing a scenario, and then delete them. If the latter,...

...and one more thing.

Is there any way for the game to keep track of partial loads delivered? When a a goal says to deliver a certain number of carloads, only full carloads get counted. If you have a train with 2 1/2 loads and then another with another 2 1/2 loads, you only get credited with 4 loads delivered. Any way to...

After running the clrcheat and getting back to the prompt, type "dir *.gmp" and see whether the new "Bar.gmp" is listed.

I think if you right-click on the popups, or somehow get to the "configuration" screen for them, there is a checkbox with something to the effect of "Don't remind me again". Uncheck this box and it won't bother you again.

I guess I was wrong

A few weeks before last November's election I observed that gasoline prices seemed to have dropped significantly from their record highs during the summer. I speculated that it was a ploy by Big Oil to placate the citizenry and bolster the chances of the then majority party to maintain their majorit...

What happens if you try the cargo additions the other way around? If you install xbBrains, set up the event for xbBrains deliveries, and then install xaMoney, does the event still work or does it switch to testing xaMoney? I think it would switch to xaMoney based on your previous description of how...

If you put a shortcut to the MS-DOS command prompt in your maps directory and run the command prompt from there, you should be able to skip all of the "cd" (Change Directory) stuff and just execute the program: "clrcheat Foo.gmp Bar.gmp"

I don't see this fix as an important one. The unsightly rail joins don't effect gameplay in the slightest. I'ld be more inclined to focus on the things that effect gameplay and worry about the "eye candy" stuff later (if at all).

It probably occurred because you invoked the cheat while in editor mode and then saved the map. If you don't have an earlier version of the map to revert back to, you're stuck (except by following milo's directions on how to edit it out at the hex-level).

And, sorry, Wolverine but your stats aint right either. The odds are 9:1 against every time. One of the most common myths is if that you've lost the toss 10 times the odds must be in your favour next throw. Tthey're not, they're still evens. That is true on any SINGLE toss (10% chance of winning). ...

I think you'll be more than happy with the build. Keep an eye open at places like CompUSA, OfficeMax, Circuit City or Staples for specials on memory. You can often get 1 Gig for under a hundred bucks. Let us know what you think about your unit (if you can tear yourself away from actually using it). ...
