Re: Working on a new web site

Hi MrScott,

Mind if I ask how they ripped you off with the TANE Kickstarter?
I've just reinstalled Trainz 2019 over the past few days after a few years hiatus, so I'm curious to hear your views on N3V.

I tried visiting your site but it seems to give me a 404 error?

Re: Two New Train Games

@RulerofRails in response to your questions; 1) Whilst I've not played to game enough to know for sure, but from my observations so far I believe it does vary between cargo types. At the very least express cargo (pax and mail) appears to be more valuable than any freight cargo. 2) You get paid the s...

Re: Two New Train Games

Well I gave in and picked up Railway Empire on steam. From the couple of hours I've played of the BETA, I'd say it's a decent game and able to hold my interest for that long at least..... whether it's worth $42 USD or not is another question. Especially when Transport Fever is cheaper at $35 USD, an...

Re: Train Fever - Railway Game in Development

It's not bad but neither is it the RRT 4 we are waiting for. Graphics are pretty and passenger trains work well. Ability to use sidings and signals is a nice touch, although very poorly explained (like most features in the game). Freight trains, however, are still kind of an experiment with very si...

Re: Train Fever - Railway Game in Development

Just thought that I'd share this here. The game dev's have decided to include freight; In the last weeks, major game design decisions have been made. Most important, due to many requests of investors and the community, we have definitely decided to include freight transport in the game. The freight ...

Train Fever - Railway Game in Development

I just discovered "Train Fever" on gambitious, which is a crowd funding website. The game is still only in the early stages of development, and they seem mostly focused on PR, and securing funds at the moment, but it looks pretty promising to me. Its essentially a modern remake of Transpor...

Re: Trainz Progress Shots

I absolutely love the Trainz 12 scenes that I have seen on their newsletter and here, but I am more into playing games. As you probably remember, I never make RT3 maps from scratch, but always start from someone else's map. And your logo set was absolutely great for my Railbaron East map. I do own ...

Re: New Railroad Game...Overdue

Run8 seems to me like a simulation for really hardcore simulation fans. Ones who want absolute realism to the point where things can become quite complicated. Rewarding, too, I suppose, once you go through the learning curve + have the time. I would totally agree, I've been pondering maybe purchasi...

Re: Windows 8

Hmmm, well I had a little read of some of the apps, and as you said, it seems that the 'normal' version of Windows 8 can be modded to make it look and behave more like Windows 7, which is nice. As you mentioned Blackhawk, it seems Microsoft is'nt exactly supportive of the practice, and it looks like...

Re: Windows 8

Yeah that's the article Hawk. From what I've read (which I must admit is fairly limited), it seems as if there is two different 'breeds' of Windows 8, one which allows you to install 3rd patty applications, and use it in a similar manor to Windows 7 through visual modifications as you mention. Then ...

Windows 8

Hey, just read a rather interesting article on Windows 8, and the numerous issues associated with it. Basically the main problem from what I have read seems to be that Microsoft is trying to copy Apples incredibly restrictive environment on IOS devices etc, and to make a few brief quotes from the ar...

Re: Trainz Progress Shots

Just another few work in progress shots. I've just redone this section of track, and I'm currently testing out what kind of locomotives/the number of locomotives required to get over the grade. First up, a grain train headed by four GrainCorp 48 Class locomotives. http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/...

Re: Trainz Progress Shots

@ Altoona+BeachCreek Thanks, I definitely will be keeping it up, and there most likely will be quite a few more abandoned sidings and small branch lines in the future. (I find them an interesting thing to add along to route as a 'blank space filler') @MrScott1964 Thanks, I'm definitely gonna be rota...

Re: Trainz Progress Shots

After searching and testing many, many textures, I ended up using SAM VS Grass 2 <KUID2:132952:100940:10> for a base grass texture. Thanks for the tip, that texture is great. I've just redone some areas using it for the grass. Here's a shot of a C38 class doing a heritage tour, in the same bridge a...

Re: Trainz Progress Shots

Thanks everyone for the feedback and tips. :-) @MrScott, no disrespect taken, I completely agree with you, in fact that's one of the reasons why I've put off texturing most of the route, i'm just finding it really hard to find textures that look good, no just for grass, but for ballast, river beds, ...

Trainz Progress Shots

Hi all, I just thought I would make a thread here just showcasing some progress screenshots of how my route is coming along in Trainz 12. I'm making a fictional route, that is loosely Australia/New South Wales themed, which so far consists of a partly electrified main line, and also a non electrifie...

Re: New Game "The Train Giant" / A-Train 9

Well I bought this a few months back, and I must say that it looks pretty amazing, that is if you figure out how to play it properly. It definitely seems to have a very steep learning curve. Unfortunately I haven't really had the time to figure out how to pay it properly, and somehow the version I p...

Hey MrScott, Some pretty amazing screenshots there from what I saw. Makes me want to go and work on my own trainz route some more. Just an FYI in case you arent aware, when I click on the 'Layout' button, which takes me to http://home.comcast.net/~lwvrr/index.html , the white textbox thing is playin...
