Re: Northeast Corridor
I think your right about all companies' having access to Manhattan tunnel at the start, and I also do not see any events that change that later. **!!!** It must be written into an event however, and I guess the trick is to build a bridge and station on the island before the game starts if you have E...

Re: Removing pre-built track/companies
I tried W Sherricks' suggestion to clear companies and I think there is still a small problem. I tried it on the "Go West" map, and it looks like even when you merge with the existing companies, the game still continues the "company ID # " count from where the original companies ...

Re: Northeast Corridor
I hadn't tried using Erie as my starting company, so I gave it a try. Result: Gold on Expert. Starting with one of the lower income railroads takes few years longer (13 instead0 of 11)than the better ones. One advantage that Erie does have is that it starts out with access to the "Manhattan Tun...

Everybody here is obviously connected to the internet. The answer to any question you could possibly ask is a mouse click away.

Re: Northeast Corridor
If you follow the twelve steps I listed in my previous post and follow it up with quality RRT3 gameplaying, it is really hard to not get Gold on any level every time.

Re: Freight Only
I usually only bother to separate freight and express when there is an Express Speed goal to be reached. Use faster locos and fewer cars on your express routes and set them to have priority over freight trains in these cases. In larger scenarios it is sometimes profitable to run Express trains betwe...

Re: Northeast Corridor
I really like the scripting in this map- very creative. I tried to play my first try in a "conventional" manner, buying stock in a few companies and selling when they rose and bought out one of the cheaper companies after the first year. I fell just short of the Gold (on Expert) using this...

Re: List of actually amounts of supplied and demanded cargo?
I concur with the spotty performance from Furnaces. I suspect it has something to do with the dual input/ output aspect of them .

Re: Coru's game mods (and questions!)
Ned, are you going to rename "Oil" then as well? Perhaps re-naming it "Crude Oil" to differentiate it from "Petroleum" would work. or naming the Refinery output product as "Refined Petroleum" or something like that would work.

Re: Coru's game mods (and questions!)
A suggestion I have is to simply rename "Diesel" to "Fuel". It would make more sense as there is only one output from the Refinery, and it could represent everything from Gasoline to Diesel to Home Heating Oil.

Spyware "removers" that actually plant their own crap on your computer are a proven fact. Other things to keep in mind are things like "encryption" software- etc. The Powers That Be that are using the Internet as a giant fishing net to gather information on everyone use "enc...

Re: Help Polynesia Rail making a Tahiti Map
Maybe you could make a scenario that centers around some castaways that develop their own primitive railroad. You could have a "Professor" who is the mechanical genius, the "Skipper" of the boat could become the Engineer, and perhaps you could have a financier named something lik...

Re: Help Polynesia Rail making a Tahiti Map
A railroad on a tiny island seems a lot like using a cell phone to call someone sitting next to you. Possible but not necessary or practical. Perhaps passenger service from one side of the island to other or "sightseeing" excursion trains into the mountains (5 miles out and 5 miles back??)...

Re: Advantage of Second Company to Startup Company
I must also point out that Daveys post is not entirely accurate. It is NOT necessary to have $1,000,000 of personal cash to perform a company to personal cash transfer, and is many times more useful when you have much less than that. Generally speaking, if you have a positive amount of cash in your ...

Re: Advantage of Second Company to Startup Company
There are actually many reasons. Here's another one: Track. In some scenarios that have limited amounts of track available, the AI companies are supplied with much more, and occasionally, startup companies are intentionally or inadvertently given large amounts to start with. In some secnarios that h...

I will have to try that rerouting of the .exe the next time I make a copy of an installed game and move it. Glad the folder name fixed you up.
By the way, I hope that your work doesn't involve monitoring critical systems at a Nuclear Plant or anything.........

I copy & pasted this from my folder name Wolverine. : Saved Games Hope it works for you. !*th_up*! Edit to add: I have had similar problems with multiple installations of games- moving copies of an installed game from one drive to another. The problem seems to be that the "installed game&qu...
