Re: Stokers' Corner

Yes. The cheat is this: Scenarios that have a "haul X amount of an item to a city or territory to achieve goal Y" . A good example is Building to Buffalo where you have to haul X number loads of rice(flour) from Buff to the east coast. The cheat is hauling in say 8 loads, then , when they ...

Re: Stokers' Corner

Thanks JF. I understand the price aspect of "demand", my question is specifically about whether a building that "demands" a product without having a "factory" function (i.e. demand/supply), if the product that is demanded is actually consumed, or is it just a "magn...

Re: Stokers' Corner

I have a basic question about the "Demand" function. Do buildings that demand something also CONSUME (Remove from the map) that product ? The answer appears to be yes, but it is hard to tell by observing, as the demanded product will pile up beyond the annual demand quota.

Re: Help wanted - scenario for beta testing

Even if all 13 of loads had made it, you would still have been 87 loads short of the 100 load goal, and after that, you have a 150 load per YEAR goal which is completely unobtainable-by about 140 loads. The cheats Ruth is referring to are the "haulback" cheat and of course "Shift + E&...

Re: Stokers' Corner

Thanks Wolverine, I had thought of making a choice to select which path you wanted also, and I might just do it that way, there is just something I like about having A "Silver Cup" and Bronze Statue" I guess that it might deter some folks that are fixated on viewing their own hi...

Re: Stokers' Corner

A second concept I am including in this scenario involves making the three medals represent three different but equally hard goals. They would be made mutually exclusive. Example: 1 The "Gold Watch" will be awarded by the American Railway Association for focusing on the operation of the ra...

Re: Stokers' Corner

OK- I am rolling along on my new scenario- tentatively titled "To Build a Nation". My goal is to make a long scenario that progresses from 1829 to perhaps 1929, and utilize all of the 1.06 buildings and cargoes. I am working on a concept to create a more complex economy structure by making...

Re: Help wanted - scenario for beta testing

As the scenario exists, the medals are impossible- hence my previous post. ;-)

Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster

I had this happen while playing "Orient Express". I don't know why, but the track all turned electric, then, when i saved and reloaded it had reverted to no-electric. It appears there are some Gremlins in this game. In my current LA & L.A. scenario, I had a weird bug where a certain wa...

Re: Help wanted - scenario for beta testing

I like the scenario Ruth. I made a Prohibition situation as part of a scenario that involved making alcohol production go to zero in the US and upped it in Canada, with haulage rewards - etc. The alcohol haulage in your scenario is flawed. There are 5 breweries on the map- all near collingwood. I ma...

Re: Stokers' Corner

Here's a few tips for playing La & L.A. : 1. You can let the AI's build track(they are set to expand fast in beginning) for a while before merging with one. But dont wait too long, or you are in danger of not meeting the 12 year connection goal. Merging after about 5 years seems to work out the ...

Re: Stokers' Corner

OK- here's the Beta for my new scenario "LA & L.A." It is made for the 1.06 Mod. The premise of the scenario is that you inherit a Hotel business in New Orleans, some cash and some "worthless" real estate in a little town in California called "Los Angeles" . Your mi...

Re: Stokers' Corner

Hi all, I am back from a week long trip to California, and am getting back to finishing this "LA and L.A." scenario. I encountered some crash problems associated with some events, and now have the culprits weeded out. I tested the new version yesterday, and it seems stable, and victory is ...

Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster

A comment on "municipal buildings". Here in the USA, the city services you are talking about(landfill-incinerator-etc) are generally privately owned enterprises and not the property of the city or state. Therefore, I see no problem in having them as "buildable" industries, as tha...

Re: Help making a Southwest map

A couple problems: The text at the top of the ledger states how many years you have been playing, and the final year to accomplish the goals. However, that same text repeats at the bottom. Why? I want the player to start in Los Angeles and build connected track. Do I have to start the company for t...

Re: Preventing Construction Firms from being built

I think they are set as "core" city support buildings, just like houses-bakeries-museums-etc and will spawn with city growth. They appear in the "overall industries" and in the city menus as they can be set to be buildable by the player, but setting this to zero or unchecked will...

Re: US Southern States Map

The states you listed are the Southwest ones. Try playing the Southern Pacific map, Corus San Diego, etc. I am finishing a redux of the SP map right now. As for the "Southern States" there are lots of maps for those, even one with that name, look in the map archive.

Re: Scenario Help

I generally script to DISSUADE industry buying by AIs. Left alone, they will build a two town "railroad" and just sit there buying industries the whole game.
