Re: Newbie to create (modify) scenarios

The thing that pops into my head is that perhaps after entering new name for modified map that you hit cancel instead of save. Quite possible. Try it again is my suggestion Jason. If this does not work, go back to desktop and do a search for new files to see if it was created, and if it was see where...

Re: Stokers' Corner

Sure Kevin, I will shoot you one later tonight. I can also send you a mostly finished map I made that might interest you . In it, I have scripted an "Express Point" goal system that awards points per express speed, which are required for medals. It also gives production bonus'(Increased pa...

Re: Stokers' Corner

Getting closer! Tested game with new goals- got my butt kicked, but I think I have hard but possible goals zeroed in now. Was close to getting goals and had around 120 trains, where with longer term goals I was getting up past 200 and game was getting boggy. New "warehouse" linking to Birm...

Re: Stokers' Corner

Final projects I am doing today on this scenario are adjusting the haulage requirements to meet the reduced time requirement(and testing of course) and weeding out some non-historical industries, such as providing a warehouse link to Birmingham(off screen to the east) to provide another steel and ir...

Re: RRT3 Going Nukular

Gum is produced by the tropical plantation. It ships in tankers to rubber factories to be made into rubber products, and also to the confectionery where it is made into food. (small amounts). It also goes to the lumber mill to be made into lumber with pulp, i.e particle board. A suggestion here. I ...

Re: "missing" industries

Everything looks great! Are the buildings listed "static" only(demand produce same amounts), or are some actual "industries"? Something the original game lacks is early industries, perhaps making a small shed into a "Wood Craftsman's Shop" that turns lumber into goods a...

Re: Stokers' Corner

Ok, my new scenario is nearly complete. I have named it LA to L.A. . and it uses all of the 1.06 cargoes, limited to 1870-1900. Gold and silver are achieved in 25 years, Bronze has same goals as Silver and is achieved in 30. I was making this scenario to be much longer time frame wise, but it was ge...

Re: Concrete plants

The point I was making about the Tool and Die and Machine Shop was that the T&D produces GOODS and that the Machine Shop produces Machinery (in 1.06). It would be more accurate the other way around. In your mod, I guess you dont have "machinery" so renaming T&D to machine shop make...

Re: "missing" industries

How about a "Hobo Jungle"? With some shanties and tents? :-D

Edit: That only partly a joke. it could demand and produce passengers- albeit illicit ones, and demand alcohol, of course. !*th_up*!

Re: "missing" industries

I like the idea for making smaller footprints. One partucularly buggersome oversized one is the Quarry in 1.06 using the Aluminum Mill. You cant place it where you would typically find a "quarry" in a mountainous area, it has to be very flat ground, and the thing is HUGE. Using any small b...

Re: Concrete plants

The "Concrete" cargo is definitely a misnomer. Cement would be the correct term. Concrete is created by mixing cement with aggregate, and then with water. Also, having the "concrete" in tankers is incorrect, and fairly comical "Geez this this concrete was liquid when we put ...

Ahhh- construction pranks- now your talking. "Hey Newguy, grab me some toenails." Newguy says "Where they at boss?"--- "They're in the box next to the boardstretcher" --"you know-- the big 3 cylinder one on the bottom"..... ^**lylgh

Kind of like the "Complaint Departments" plaque with a hand grenade on it, with a big "1" on the pin. If you have a complaint just pull the pin and wait, someone will be right with you.... I think they give out those plaques with salvage yard licenses as every junkyard in the nat...

Re: Helen Waite

This brings to mind a point : Everything man has ever done has failed. The pyramids take the prize for the longest triumph of man made things- but alas, they too are slowly falling apart, and they are after all just piles of stone. :-| Mans hubris: We can make bombs that will wipe out mankind? GREAT...

You could also make it demand tires, and then stop demanding tires and demand foodstuffs around 1980 when "service stations" became convenience stores. !*th_up*!
