Re: Mongolia

You don't need the "Don't build Steel Mill/Oil Refinery" notice. Milo shared the secret somewhere. If a SEEDED warehouse/port produces a cargo it will appear on the map. The definition of seeded is that a city/region slider for it is set to 1% or more. There is no requirement that this bu...

Flynn's Coast

Flynn’s Coast. This is a 1.05 version game of a fictitious land. Four optional AI players. This is a classic style RT3 game which can be played multiple ways: solo with no PNW goal, solo with a PNW goal, with AI but no PNW goal, with AI and a PNW goal. You can have zero to four AI rivals. The game g...

Re: Mongolia

Thanks for the helpful comments. I apologize for the small territories. I thought about making the boundaries visible, but decided it would attract a player's interest before the event triggered. I will enlarge the territories. I wish I had known about "Milo's secret" many years ago. It is...

Re: Poydras Islands

Thanks for the corrections. No matter how long one looks at their own writing, small mistakes awlays elude them. :-D The terrain editing for level track is an optional variant to the game. It is not necessary and certainly not required as a game goal. I played this game many times before I thought o...

Mongolia

This is a 1.05 Version game of the real country of Mongolia. No AI. No stock market. No tycooning. The year is 1992. You have been hired to bring the Mongolian Railways back to life, to expand the railway to all corners of the country and to lift the economy and wealth of this newly formed nation. T...

Poydras Islands

Poydras Islands is a fictional land of four island countries. 1.05 Version. This is one of my most unusual games in that I specially prepared the map so most of the cities could be connected with level track through the RT3 Editor. The game can be played just as well without level track via the Edit...

Coasta Calida

Costa Calida. A fictional coast land (modified from an area in Russia). 1.06 version. Two optional AI players. This was designed to be an easy, fun game. Nearly flat terrain (but tunnels do help). Begins in 1930. No surprises. Great for a rainy day. The goals of the game are to: 1. Connect 60 cities...

Re: Mozambique 1936

I made the edits and changes to the game events and posted the updated version in my first post. Thanks for the comments. RoR: As much as I admire you style of play, I assumed that the player would 'gather' the cattle into the cache of large stations placed in the countryside and then ship the cattl...

OK, I'll make the changes and submit a revised map.
Is accel and fuel econ the only ones bugged? What about speed or reliability?

Mozambique 1936

Hey All, It has been a while since I've been on this forum. I have some games which I never sent to the map archive. It occurred to me that others might enjoy them as much as I do. A game about Mozambique (Portuguese East Africa in 1936) is one of them. It is attached below and is ready for ...

Re: Stonghold Value

Events to calculate trend are interesting. I'm not sure what you have envisaged here. In order to compare the present year to 3 years ago you will need to store raw info for at least 3 years already? I think this may be exploitable sometimes. I'm not sure if this is a true "trend" calcula...

Re: Stonghold Value

Benchmark Railroad Profit One final item: if and when the player takes over TAZARA, they will have 5 years to match or best a benchmark railroad profit. This adds an immediate challenge to the player to quickly turn the TAZARA tracks into a money maker. The player will probably start considering ho...

Re: Stonghold Value

The Stronghold Value I originally called this the Enterprise Value but found out that this is a real term in the investment world and carries a much different meaning than what I wanted it to mean. A company's Stronghold Value (SV) could be this - (calculated at the end of every year): Market Capit...

Stonghold Value

I'm inviting the opinions, ideas and comments of the forum members in a new game being developed. The GOAL is for the player to take over a powerful AI before the AI takes over the player, not based on company worth but a calculated value called ' Stronghold Value ' - a measure of how strong a compa...

Re: Tan-Zam Railroad BETA

I kind of wish that the Gold medal would only be awarded for meeting goals that not even the scenario creator could achieve, but that he thinks are maybe possible, and that Silver should be the normal goal to strive for. So I guess I'm saying, make the Gold medal requirement for your next scenario ...

Re: Tan-Zam Railroad BETA

And I feel like I remember Tazara, and that it was rather tough.. This particular game was a 'remodeling' effort of Brunom's original map - and I'm afraid it shows. When a game scenario is a race against time, I tend to lean more towards the novice player. I probably gave more 'behind the scene hel...

Re: Holyland Beta for 1.06

Oilcan or anyone, have you ever run into trouble with 'game messages' reverting back to 'dialog' Yes, all the time in 1.06V. My work-around solution is to start the creation of every new map in 1.05V, enter 1 event as a game message and then move the map into 1.06V. I duplicate the game message eve...

Re: Holyland Beta for 1.06

I have stopped at 1986 with a PNW of $25M. I don't see how I can ever reach 1 billion in the remaining 20 years. I think I can reach $250M, but that's just a guess. I did not choose to add the new industries, instead staying with the default 1.06V industries. My industry base was just beginning to b...

Re: How to take screenshots on Windows 8?

What have I done!? Those are not floating trees in the image below, they are invisible mountains with trees. invisible.JPG I copied the D3D8.dll file into my 1.05V folder. I ran the dgvoodooCPL application and left everything default except removed the watermark. Then, presto, mountains become invis...
