Seems that I did it better on the second try. :-D This time I set the focus on "connect as much as you can" and - by the way - built some industires (mostly textile mills) and from time to time had a look on the AIs. The letter ones were not really a problem - if they didn't vanish by them...

Gave it a try (on normal) and went nowhere! Ok, I fulfilled the precondition to connect the cities required for a medal (but one year short only, 1879) and had taken over all companies by 1885, but there was no chance to get the "all cities connected" bonus and - also - it seemed that I fo...

On my way to get a medal in each scenario known (by me), I hopefully started this one - after three years - under patch 1.06 once again ... and got the CtD (Crash to Desktop) immediately when hitting the OK button to create a company. Remembering some problems with Gilligans Isle, I tried a new star...

No takeover and no message about winning or losing the scenario Same experiences by me! Played it just now on normal and fulfilled the Gold conditions after 17 years, but nothing happened at all. There is "a litte problem" with the final version: the introduction text shows as well as the events check for 200 / 400 / 600 LIP, but the ledger presents only (the beta) 100 / 200 /400 LIP as goal. That's - at least - somewhat irritating. :-D

From my point of view the disassembly presented shows the contents of a (short) data section, not program code. (I was using assemblers in the 80's and I've never seen a valid sequence of assembly statements like this. ^**lylgh )

Started 1870 on normal and got Gold by 1914. Unfortunately, I was too short for the wool (1077) and steel (384) bonus. Also, it seems that I'm not able (e.g. to stupid) to produce machinery.

Anyway, a good map. !*th_up*!

Halloween is history - nevertheless, this map seems (and very likely also other maps seem) to have a problem with at least the locomotive selection. (Ok - it's an RT3 problem, not a map creators one!) The facts: Usually, I've installed any additional locos and buildings etc., so that I can play any ...

Only two short notes by an old software developer: I've made the experience that the use of old libraries in newer environments is increasingly problematic. If you e.g. use proprietary ActiveX components developed under Visual C++ version 6.0 (around 1995) including the corresponding old MS librarie...

Just did it on normal and got the Golden one by 1922. Had all cities connected by 1898 but completed the story without the boni for rubber (appearing in 1900) and iron.

No problems detected - good map, arop! (0!!0)

Another way to stay fro some more years with XP is by using virtual machines, e.g. you can build an image - i.e. create a virtual copy - of your good old XP computer and run this one virtually on any Vista or W7 machine. I did this two or three years ago by using VMware Converter and Player.

I contrast to you I'm focussed on RT3, even I've played RT1 and RT2 with great fun too. But who knows, maybe your coming new maps for RT2 will bring me back to the predecessor. (0!!0)

Due to a "personal hardware problem" (tennis elbow) I'm not able to play RT3 or any other games. But I'll give all these new maps a try each as soon as I can ... e.g. in some weeks. (0!!0)
