Re: LG products warning
You're not looking at the whole picture. If a Best Buy representative says that the number one returned brands were LG and Acer, what does that tell you? Some people have gotten lucky but some haven't. If you have a choice, why take a chance on something that expensive? Do you not care? If the lowes...

Re: LG products warning
As big as LG is, I've heard, many years ago, that they're nothing but a 3rd rate company.
When I was going through my monitor woes, the Best Buy guy told me that LG is the most returned product in the store.
Thanks for the warning...

Re: External hard drive woes
Update,
I got it, guys. I had to 'activate' it and assign it a drive letter before it'd work.

External hard drive woes
Hi guys, Got a problem I can't seem to resolve. I've just installed a new C:\ hard drive and it works like a pro. No issues there BUT, my external hard drive can't be accessed anymore. XP says it found new hardware, installed it, and it's up and running fine. I've checked it in Device Manager and it...

Re: Now it's time for a Hard Drive
Bought it, installed it, it's up and running like a charm.
Simply nothing but plug & play.
Now, reading dozens upon dozens of reviews, most all complained about the lack of a SATA cable.
All I did was remove the old drive and plug this one in.
Thanks, guys,

Re: HELP!!! My PC is crashing.
Thought I'd post another update. Something you LCD lovers will like to hear. :salute: I have a graphics card that'll run about 1,000 miles an hour, (just as an example, btw), and a CRT monitor that runs about 500 miles an hour and, I do notice the difference in load times. {,0,} Web pages and graphi...

Re: Be kind to turkeys day
That reminds me, I've got to get me a pork roast. I don't eat turkey. Never liked it. (My mom always baked me a small ham. )
Thanks, Gwizz... You too.

Re: Now it's time for a Hard Drive
I've read a lot of reviews and have experienced nothing but good with WD in the past but, I have read many bad reviews about other drives. There just doesn't seem to be all that many bad reviews about WD. In most cases, it's usually the users fault and not WD's. I'm not really looking for a bargain ...

Re: Now it's time for a Hard Drive
The N. Little Rock store, about 10 miles from me, does have it. They have a big HD selection. It's a very well stocked store. I believe the reason is because Circuit City and another electronic store all within a few miles of each other went out of business and Best Buy is taking up all the slack ar...

Re: Now it's time for a Hard Drive
That Seagate is a 250 and I'm startin' to crowd it with all my models and texture files. I thought 1 TB would do me for quite some time to come. I don't suppose I'd ever fill it up. If it's taken me 3 years to crowd a 250, I figured I'd be good to go with a 1 TB if I continue to build models for the...

Now it's time for a Hard Drive
Hi guys, I like sharing with you. You all have wonderful opinions about most everything. My hard drive is about 3 years old, now. It's a Seagate Barracuda model ST3250310AS. It's been good to me so far but, it's aging. I've got my eye on this. I believe it'll get me by for another 3-5 years. The new...

Thanks for the info, Gwizz. I'm like Ed, if the subject matter isn't specific about trains or modeling or something like that, I just tag 'em and delete 'em.

Re: HELP!!! My PC is crashing.
So far so good. It's only given me one blink and that could be from the lack of usage and in warming it up. (Hopefully.) **!!!** I am amazed at how clear this thing is. !*00*! Nothing beats a CRT. !*th_up*! And, I've just been through 5 or 6 LCDs and LEDs wide screen testing them. :salute: I will be...

Re: HELP!!! My PC is crashing.
D-Sub carries analogue signal and DVI-D carries digital signal, which makes for superior image quality. Obviously, if the monitor only has an analogue input, using DVI in the display adapter side won't improve the quality. edit: Hm, I'm not sure if there are any CRT's accepting a digital signal... ...

Re: HELP!!! My PC is crashing.
I'm afraid so. If nothing else, it'll make a good spare. I'll make another attempt at that 22" later in a month or two.
Only issues I may have is that it only has a Dsub connector and not a DVI also.
What's the advantages of the two, btw? Does anybody know?
