Re: Monkey Business (CA09) Campaign Scenario

Well, I've just stranded myself on Sanctuary Island all by myself with no need for encouragement! Going to start my fourth attempt now. I do love the newspaper headlines, by the way! If you're finding this one a bit tough to start with, why not try "Monkey Motors" first my other campaign ...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

Machinery and Goods will work great as imports (to your map from mine) so I'll add that to the Canada Docks recipe
Not sure which, if any of your exports I'll use, as they're all rather basic but Hides going tothe Manchester mills (well Tannery) would work best in the historic sense anyway.

Re: Monkey Business (CA09) Campaign Scenario

Edit: I've found it, it looks like a port on Sanctuary Island. Maybe a Gwizz port? An experiment that got left over in the final version? Anyway I'm pleased it does exist and I'm not completely losing my marbles! It was placed there along with Gold Coast Port to entice people over to Sanctuary Isla...

Re: Set To Human Control

I've used the "Set to human control" event in one of my scenarios (can't remember which one) but to do it I think you have to specify which company - by ID - in the conditions window and then set the effect to swap it over. Not sure it works though if the Human is already in control of a c...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

There will be some difficulty, but as I've only really planned out the first part of the scenario it's hard to tell what the rest will be like. The main trouble at the start will come from Warrington bank Quay station becoming a bottle neck as, you can see from the map, there's only one place for th...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

Progress with the map has continued today which is why there's another attachment. :-D I've decided to continue with the idea given above, by following the time line of the L&MR but combining it's route with what would become the southerrn route. So I've set up the L&MR route, which will be ...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

Oh dear !*00*! Time line research is throwing up some serious issues with history, and the proposed start date. Although the L&MR opened in Sept 1930 and did naturally connect Liverpool and Manchester, a second line was built during the 1850s which is the one that connected Warrington and then c...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

When creating a scenario, you needn't resign as chairman to go to another company and do stuff, hold ctrl and click on the player you want to be and then you'll operating as that character. You can also then go into the company info and set the cash for that company. If you are building an RR, give...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

Looking in the supply documentation pdf for TM it looks like: Steel Plants come into existence in 1856 Machinery/Machine Shop = 1800 Glass = 1800 Aluminium = 1886 Plastic = 1901 Although you'll probably want to look at the supply documentation yourself to see what each industry demands at the time ...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

Ah good no one has answered yet as I have more questions. First off, is there a special way to create - in the editor - a highly successful AI company? I've made AI companies before, by setting one up, laying track, station etc, and then resigning from them, and use EVENTs to set them up once a real...

Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" (CA02)

As discussed elsewhere I'm in the process of making a real (well real-ish) time/place map currently titled Warrington Wire. This is my first time making a scenario based on a real map, so I'm probably going to asking a lot of questions and here is where those questions start. First off, thanks to Wo...

Re: What makes a perfect scenario?

I agree in basic terms to what the OP stated. The "rules" I try to follow during all my (so far) fantasy based maps, is that there has to be a plot line, giving "reasons" why certain things have to be done, that follow logically from what has happened. This though should also be ...

Re: Two new scenarios

Personally, I have gotten really bored with the same old connect two cities make a gazillion dollars in x years scenarios. I am looking for more challenges, and twists in the game. So to that end, I have even decided that I am scrapping the CA01 Birth of a Nation map,and starting it all from scratc...

Scenario idea - heightmap ?

I've had another idea for a new scenario but unlike all my previous maps, I fancy doing something (slightly) historical, based on a real place but don't know where to get the height maps. So the question is: does anyone know where to get a large scale, close-up height map of the north of England (th...

Re: Menus, Menus Everywhere

Now that new one I like with the drop down menus, and not just cos it puts Trainmaster on a level playing field with all the other RT versions instead of hiding it in a sub menu, of a sub menu, of a sub menu, where I couldn't find it.
