Re: EdLand v2

In 1947 the Big E was "completed" and after 21 years I could see "6389 loads hauled". So, I now have to lunk around until the limit of 10000 is reached. But seems, that I better force the industres (now at 21 M) and make more money now to be ready for the "gathering D chall...

Re: Order of map creation

The only thing I'll say - before Hawk does - is that I would leave the actual final painting till last, as you can sometimes lose colour with multiple saves and you'll naturally be saving your map over and over again as you tweak. Just my !#2bits#! Yes, I read hawk's thread on that, but can't say i...

Re: EdLand v2

I was thinking about posting the 'proper' strategy for this map (ie the one I used to create it) but wanted to hold off until people had a go with their own. However, most of what you did was correct, appart from running trains maxed out all the way though with a 0 min on all cities just to keep thi...

Order of map creation

As I'm currently building a new map on which I plan to base several scenarios (hope that's okay?) I wondered if people have formula for making maps from scratch, especially fantasy ones. It's been a few years since I did one so I had to work out what I thought would be a logical way to do it which I...

Re: Rorschach - Heiden & Spanisch Brotli

I had a quick go Spanisch Brotli last night playing on 'medium' (Yeah I know I'm better than that but still!) Anyway, I nearly messed up the connection as I spent too much time trying to make industry profits and shifting sugar, but thankfully realised in time to pull through for gold with a couple ...

Disable suspension bridges

Is it possible to completly disable the use of suspension bridges so that no one - not human or AI - can building. In the map I'm currently building - the hub - part of the landscape is a series of interconnected island surrounded by lakes/oceans, the idea being that the player/s will have to worm t...

Re: Ecuador - a first attempt at scenario building

First off, thanks to low_grade for this enjoyable map. (0!!0) I seemed to have played slightly differently to the others on here, in that I went after the loads first, and only when they were on the way to being completed did I make the connections in the mountains. (Yes that means I built a very ex...

Re: Ed Land Version 2

Directed mostly to Edbangor. Played EdLand, only to find that there are only 33 of the 35 cities needed to get to the other islands. Didn't bother to count them before or during the play, but found out after connecting all the cities designated as Big E. **!!!** I will probably have to replay the s...

Re: How to reset high score?

Okay, I can confirm that the above idea, actually works. !*th_up*!

The game will automatically create a new Highscores.dat file, with the defalt entries (ie it won't be empty)

Re: How to reset high score?

If you look in the following folder on your hard drive

.../Railroad Tycoon 3/Data/Other

you should find a file called

Highscores.dat

move that (while the game isn't running) and then see what happens.

PS This is only an idea and may not work (which is why I suggest you move it rather delete it).

Re: Group Logical Relations

You've lost me on the evaluations, as I'm at work and don't have a copy of RT3 to experiment with, but as far as the ledger goes, I think it updates constantly, I don't think it's a once-a-year thing. If you look at it during the course of the year it will tell you the current state of play - if yo...

Re: all GREEN maps - paint and color gone

I've never had that problem with spaces in the names. **!!!** You may be right as the all green thing has happened since I removed the space but only when 'painting' oceans and lakes (ie not when colouring the ground, mountains etc) However in all cases, a quick save and reload, puts the blue back....

Re: all GREEN maps - paint and color gone

Just for extra information The same thing happens - the map goes green - if you have a space in the file name as I just discovered when I made the first save of a new map I'm working on which was called "the Hub" but is now "Hub" and once more I have blue oceans, and lakes which ...

Re: Western fruit express

Every time I tested this scenario, I started in NY, but kept thinking that I should try the midwest as there's so many large cities with express there. Thanks for testing that option for me (Nashville is close enough - it's only 5 hours from Chicago) and a big thank you for writing a review. If onl...

Oh this map drove me !hairpull! I thought I had it sussed. Connect up all the source material you'll need. Then build a station just outside of the canel zone (while you can't get in) and build all the industries you need there. Once the canel opens, ship everything in. Simple? Well no, as the two c...

Hi, Just a quick heads up. The intro to Ed land has a typo. "naglect" should be "neglect" Thanks for that. Hopefully it's the only thing you'll find wrong. ^**lylgh BTW: there's a review thread for 'Edland'" here: http://hawkdawg.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2089

Western fruit express

First off thanks to Orange46 for the scenario which was great fun. When I first read the requirements for this I thought it was going to be fairly easy as, after all, it's just a matter of shipping some fruit to New York, isn't it? Well, yes it is, but there's more to it than that. There's also the ...
