Hawk,
My apologies, I thought I sent an email about it. Perhaps, I hadn't. Yes, hopefully this update will fix the medaling issues as well as and a new twist.
Thanks,
JB

Re: Central California
Hi Gander,
For someone who isn't really knowledgeable about the whole buying back stock/starting new companies aspect of the game, could you elaborate a little bit on how you did that early on in the game?
Thanks,
JB

Re: Central California
Thanks for posting those Gander. By all means post any scenario strategies! I'm fairly new to the game and could use any advice. Even on my own scenario!

Re: Central California
Sugus, I concur with everyone of your changes and will implement them into my map. All except the breakdowns, of course. I'm sure the actual Southern Pacific railroad company would have LOVED to be able to turn off breakdowns also :) Maybe it's an expert thing (I always play on normal), but I've nev...

Exactly right.Gandar wrote:I will have to go back and develop the rail network to ship stuff out before I even ship it in !.
Also, a goof. Looks like I can't count, and you actually have 21 years to finish the scenario, instead of 20. I guess the game actually counts your first year as year 0.

Re: Central California
Hey folks, Yes, there are a few changes to the beta version. First of all, there are a few more coffee farms to work with. Second, the chance that you will be ripped off by investing in coffee was cut in half. You should have twenty full years to make gold. Whenever you reach a medal requirement for...

Re: Looking for new map testers
Just went through it and was able to get all the gold requirements on Normal save one (25 loads short on coffee).

Re: Looking for new map testers
I've reworked the coffee variables, and added a couple farms. Give it a try on normal and let me know how it goes.
Thanks,

Re: Looking for new map testers
Personally, I've been able to meet all of the requirements of each product for Gold on normal. Unfortunately, that's never happened in the same game. I usually end up short on one or two. I have never tested it on Expert. Alcohol tends to be the easiest since it's the shortest distance, and meat is ...

Central California
Hi All, Please test out my new scenario "Central California". I'm wanting to know if my variables are set up correctly and if my medal conditions work. Please let me know if you get a different medal than you should have gotten. Your haulage reports in the status window should be all the i...

Hmm, thanks all.
I think I'll set up the company in the editor. Scenario "Central California" is almost ready.
Cheers,
JB

Re: Naming your railroad
I'm referring to the scenario writer. I'm creating a new scenario, and when I'm testing it, it suggests the name "Great Republic" when I start my company. I'm trying to find a way to go back into the editor and change the default from Great Republic to Southern Pacific.

Naming your railroad
Hi All, I've been trying to find somewhere in scenario-creation-land where I can type in the default name for the railroad company at the beginning of the scenario. We all know that when we start a company, we have to choose a name and logo. Rather than just get a generic name, I'd like to suggest o...

Re: Los Angeles
Something else to remember to keep up the speed of your express trains is to make sure that they service only when you want them to. Nothing kills your speed faster than having a full express train stop twice for service during it's route. My strategy was to have my service towers and maintenance sh...

Re: American Civil War
Just won as the North, thought I would do the same review that I did for the south. Starting off in New England proved to be fairly lucrative early on especially hauling passengers. Hook up New York, Philly, Baltimore and DC, but no more than that to begin with. You may want to grab the Chicago and ...

Re: American Civil War
Wow, great scenario! I just won as the South, and thought I'd share how I did it. First of all, if you don't find any iron, you're screwed, because you have to rely on the weapons and ammo coming from the Wilmington port which is not NEARLY enough. I exclusively searched in Alabama for iron with suc...
