Re: MT-1 Mountain Loco

Thanks guys; the P2 Mountain is undoubtedly what I had in mind, and that one is already in my loco inventory. One of the scenarios that I had attempted -- JayEff's "Athabasca" -- made mention that the MT-1 Mountain and the P2 would come in handy in his scenario. But no matter, I couldn't g...

MT-1 Mountain Loco

Where can I find this engine? It doesn't seem to be available on the Xtras page. Way back when I think that this engine was included with one of William Sherrick's "Age of Steam" scenarios, but I can't to find it there either. Probably I'm just too old to do a proper search. !!jabber!!

Re: Bermuda Triangle for 1.06!

... A few years back the game asked if I wanted to go for DM, and I said yes -- would I have been awarded early Gold if I had said no? ... Well, it was a fun scenario; fortunately I had a save from 1843 which I loaded & ran with. When the 2000th load of paper was delivered I got the DM question...

Re: Bermuda Triangle for 1.06!

Yeah, I know this is an old thread. "Bermuda Triangle" looked interesting, so thought I would give it a try. No particular problems, playing at the expert level, except I couldn't connect the 71st city without building a suspension bridge. So in one iteration I built the suspension bridge ...

Re: Southeast USA

... I completely agree that these type of maps (sub-par economy) aren't as enjoyable to play. :-) !#2bits#! Well, I just finished this map just for the hell of it. Couple of false starts -- once I bought a lumber mill which did middling/OK the 1st & 2nd years, but couldn't generate enough cash ...

Yeah, Just checked again. So maybe I won't play it right away, and when I do I will take RulerofRails' advice. Thanks much!

Pennsylvania Electric

"Pennsylvania Electric," by Richard (Orange46) Lake is in the archives as a 1.06 RT3 map. I tried it once the other day and got my azz handed to me  . I couldn't find anything about this map in this forum; has anyone tried it?

Re: Two New Train Games

Looks like there's a couple new train games coming down the pike. Railway Empire and Mashinky. Quill18 did a review of them at YouTube. Railway Empire - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMOaBn_gMBA Mashinky - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj3zWhABrM8 I bought Mashinky when it first came out; screw...

Re: Hi Y'all

I assume you use the Vista Fix. There's an alternative now: dgvoodoo2 . There's no report of it working with Vista, but also no reports of it failing to work where the game didn't work from the box (Win 8, 10, Intel graphics cards). Of course, not many people have actually reported trying it. Might...

Re: Hi Y'all

There's been a few new maps added to the archives over the past couple of years. Have a look around and check 'em out. I'll do that; right now I'm getting my a** beat soundly by EPH's Build to the Great West and his Gilded Age v2. I remember beating them both in times past when I was MUCH younger !...

Hi Y'all

I'm not exactly new -- have been a member of Hawk's forum for more than 15 years in fact, but haven't been here for 2-3 years. I'm enjoying playing the RT2 & RT3 campaigns and scenarios again after having forgotten how to win each scenario.

Re: Great Northern

Play this one every so often. Haven't done a Canadian start yet as I love trying to re-create the Empire Builder route with this. Mainly the reason I haven't done a Canadian start yet is the Canadian Rockies. Though I plan on doing one next time I play as I finally want to send a train through Kick...

Re: Rail Baron East

Many/most of the 1.06 maps are so marked in the Archives, so I know I can't play them and don't bother with downloads. I guess these two weren't marked. Unfortunately, I have an old Vista rig and 1.06 supposedly won't work with Vista There's a VIST/Win 7 patch on HAWK's site. ... grab it and upgrad...

Has anyone tried this one in the past 8 years?? Just wonderin'. I remember completing this scenario way back when it was new, but I forget the details. I tried it today 'cause it looked fun -- and 'cause I couldn't get a couple of other maps (Alaskan Adventure, Rail Baron East) to show up in my scen...

Re: Rail Baron East

I cannot get this map, nor "Alaskan Adventure" to show up in the main menu when I am choosing a new scenario. I thought it might be that the "Campaign" box was checked, but when I tried to open either of them in the Editor, they didn't show up as maps to be loaded. I've checked m...

Re: Reviews of Building to the Great West

I have just (barely, by the skin of my teeth) managed to get Expert Gold on this gem after a couple of warm-up exercises. I decided to play this map a couple of days ago after completing Canadian Viking's first map: Building to Buffalo -- also a very challenging and enjoyable map. So, anyway, the fi...

Re: Rainy Days in British North America

I just tried this one again, had a decent start -- 8 coals which quickly mushroomed to 12, decent lumber mill in Montreal, but the textile mill there was already priced at over $2 million at game start. If the Textile Mill was upgraded $2M is a good price ... IF not then look to where the wool/cott...
