Re: help on bridging Gibraltar (Hawk?)

Hey. In reply to your reply in Ned's name, that map is showing sea in blue, not in pink as the "territories". That's what I meant. As for the company's name. That event is "tested against company" and that bit is dynamic text: [Company name]. Not that it occurred to me to change ...

Re: help on bridging Gibraltar (Hawk?)

Is that in.game, Ned? In-game, sea shows as sea, never colored as a territory. At least in my 1.05. I haven't tried your trick Hawk, since the scenario seems to work fine now. With two scenarios made almost simultaneously, I'm not in a rush to get into the Editor again... *!*!*! Anyway, cheers for a...

Re: Gibraltar Express: reviews/testers wanted

Correction:
Hawk helped me in finding out how to sort a problem in my scenario.

I also noticed right after posting the map, that I forgot to place trees.. That's now "glitch" no.1, in the to-be-corrected-after-tests list.

Re: what about a map for this... ?

Boroin, thanks for that. Even though I can read French, I am sure most here in the forum can't. I'm not a trains expert, I just like to program these maps to some level of historical and/or geographical accuracy. But it would be nice if someone could find out which RRT3 available locomotives fit bet...

Re: help on bridging Gibraltar (Hawk?)

Ok, technically not a bug, I'm cool with that.

Call it newb factor if you like. You still pushed me in the right direction.

btw.. how do you see territories under water? I didn't think it could be done, and I have just been looking around in the editor for that option, with no success.

Gibraltar Express: reviews/testers wanted

First of all, merit to Hawk for Gibraltar v1.0 and EPH for Express D'Orient. I based this one on those creations. I also peaked their programming here and then for clues and Hawk additionally helped in cracking a bug. So here is. There are 7 different territories to start from and each one gives dif...

Re: help on bridging Gibraltar (Hawk?)

Cheers! Problem solved! Actually the territory isn't hidden under the water.. It's a tiny island in the Mediterranean, aligned with the straight. Because I hadn't paint that to any of the adjacent territories, game thought the island and the whole sea were part of Leon (a territory which stands far ...

Re: help on bridging Gibraltar (Hawk?)

:-D Thanks for the under-expectations Stoker

No, I am reasonably new to this but not that daft ;-)

It's not a track-limit issue.

help on bridging Gibraltar (Hawk?)

Hi there this one goes directly to Hawk if he is around: I have been playing around with an Iberia+Morocco map for some time, trying to create yet another scenario (a mash up of Gibraltar 1.0 with Express D'Orient). In my work/fun, however, I came across a weird behaviour when trying to cross the Gi...

Re: map in making: Lx Suburban

Let us know your dealings with it, Wolverine, once you get GOLD (or sacked). In the meanwhile, our tests with the scenario don't find bugs in programming or typos anymore. Hence, we will give it a week or two to listen to the community (so we can tweak whatever and adjust for better gameplay) before...

Re: map in making: Lx Suburban

Glad you are so keen Ray

You've got PM addressing most of the issues (all of them I think).

We do need to learn about how hard/easy the requirements are looking. And for that we need the opinion of a few more experts. Has anyone else tried this latest version already?

Re: Express D'Orient

Just a quick reply on using AI track.. I used a lot of AI track in this last attempt, because Austria was already a mess when I managed to gather the 5M to buy my way in. Hence the silver instead of gold. I made some track around Budapest to make sure I delivered the 10 mail, but I was aware it was ...

Re: Express D'Orient

Nice one EPH! Just played a game on expert, starting in Istanbul. Cheaper industries make it possible as I got Silver. And, looking back, I could have done a little better. But I just wanted to have a go at it and see the thing trough. One remark though, for you to consider (even though it might be ...

Re: map in making: Lx Suburban

Just spent some time playing. Lost after the third "insufficient average express speed", kind of on purpose, but after year 12. That resulted in getting Bronze. All worked as supposed. !*th_up*! I tried to play as if I didn't know what as coming, and I gotta say it was fun - hard, but fun....

Re: map in making: Lx Suburban

First of all, the posting of the revised version: ---- ATTACHMENT REMOVED ----- Secondly, the issue of bronze/silver/gold I went and reviewed 2 things before posting this version. First, a little more help on the financial side of things - increased fundings a bit and reduced a couple of penalties. ...

Re: map in making: Lx Suburban

I'm confused as well here, Ray can it be that we are talking about different versions? The one before "complete_beta" still didn't have some the later events programmed. And win conditions were also miscoded. Now that I think of it, I reckon this is what happened to you. You got to Bronze,...

Re: map in making: Lx Suburban

I will just add this picture:
800px-Bridge_Tagus_April_2009-1a.jpg
My initial motivation for this scenario was to replicate the construction of this beautiful bridge.. but RRT3 engineers need many more pillars than real-life ones.

Re: map in making: Lx Suburban

Well Ray From your report in the PM there seems that there are a few bugs still to sort. There is no hidden "you will never get the medal" surprise - that's just ill-programming on my part *!*!*! As for stuff happening after "the bridge". I will list them here, so you can check w...
