Re: Ireland
Blackhawk is entirely right, but I don't think RT3 is doing a "rounding calculation" per se; I'm thinking it's just a display truncation of the integer (0.9= 0. 3.2=3.) Somewhat nerve-wracking in some scenarios- like waiting for that 2 grain to kick-in the 75 grand in the Trans-Siberian, f...

Re: British Miracle
This will be extremely brief- (due to real-world considerations): After long testing a second glitch emerged: If you give an AI company disconnected track it becomes schizoid. This insanity-glitch is the part responsible for the extra services and also can duplicate track (weirdly). It is not by its...

Re: British Miracle
How about having a "sticky" for each scenario in the "Reviews" forum where specific problems with a scenario could be posted? That seems like something that would take up too much space and just leaves a duplicate list of things to search- a searcher looking for problems looks f...

Re: British Miracle
I believe this is a final result, at least for me. I think the gremlin is dead. ::!**! I did about 17 runs- after I had the solution I did a few confirmatory tests and lost track of the number somewhere above #14. Remember these are partials (not over 14 years). I'll spare the details. The interesti...

Re: British Miracle
Well, that's why above I mentioned The designer knows his map and events inside-out, he has tested them and probably released for beta/playtest and received back comments and corrections and knows any seemingly unsolvable problems first hand. If a problem will arise one time in a million and three m...

Re: British Miracle
Hawk: I agree- and disagree (see below); HurstLama: you put your own finger on the overarching problem by using that filthy four-letter word: Permutations. I make no secret of having been "in the business"; I did good and I did bad, and making up the bad karma I become somewhat zealotous w...

Re: British Miracle
And the preliminary results are in- this smelled like a video glitch to me- or graphics/video might be more accurate. It's one of those little leftover PopTop gremlins that roll over and die without warning, whenever just the right (wrong?) circumstances hit. I ran a total of 11 times, so far all un...

Re: British Miracle
Beats me- I play a wide variety of pc games and multi-core is a critical issue for many, especially with graphic intensive items. Not my area **!!!** but I see many others discussing it when a mystery glitch, crash or no-start occurs. The other thing is running with background tasks enabled, or not ...

Re: British Miracle
This might be seem like "duh" but since it wasn't mentioned- many game threads note problems with older software on multi-core computers- you need to set things to use just one core- google around, I don't recall the exact fix, and I'm a P4 single-core XP loyalist anyway ("I shall rem...

Re: An incompatible version of RT3
Wow. That is weird. Where's Rod Serling when we need him. 4124? Wow. I wonder how many versions there actually were? So much for that tip.

Re: Do you place misc buildings?
I voted "depends". Not because I like to wear them...oh wait, that's a different forum...um, but seriously folks, I don't even think Taverns work. Post offices only cost money (I haven't tried 106 or TM much so I don't know about them; this is strictly the classic 105) but have been some h...

Re: Best Game Yet
Anybody go so far as to make up 'train schedules' so-to-speak to help them keep track of the trains running to/from the busiest stations? Only insofar as the fact that when the number of engines approaches three figures, it's convenient to have a scratch sheet to save one from frequent scrolling. I...

Re: RT3 Snaps
Moggie. Very much appreciated.
Wow, nasty bridge- it's nice to know it still works when weird, though.
Edit: geez-louise; I must have hit the button a few times reaching for pause or something- there are already a bunch in there. Thanks again.

Re: RT3 Snaps
OUCH! Never seen that before. Although I've never seen track not work if the map builds it, no matter how glitchy (usually when two ends attach at too steep an angle or at bridges ends,- except now that I say that I recall some occassions when the tail on mountain switchbacks wasn't long enough and ...

Re: An incompatible version of RT3
This may be a useful tip. I had this same problem, briefly, in the course of duplicating installs so as to have TM, 106 and 105 all nicely separate. As I was looking through multiple windows and scratching my head, I noticed a visual clue while eyeballing around. The RT3 executables have a unique si...

Re: Channel Ferries
... why not just use an event to remove the loco when you want it removed rather than create an event allowing the loco for a temporary number of years? . Because I can't find the Event item to "remove" an individual loco from service. It's probably right in front of me- if it was a snake...

Re: Channel Ferries
WOW! I woke up thinking what could possibly go wrong; check the site, drop off an answer, and go blithely on my way, hoping my last remaining brain cell isn't still sleeping...Apologies for not paying attention; this is what I get for sticking my oar in the water too soon; but I was fascinated by th...

Re: Channel Ferries
Short answer should be "yes", but if you disable globally the same rule probably applies- if the human player would get anything BEYOND that point, you'll have to Event it too.
