It looks like I got it, using LWVRR's dxtbmpx program. Can I buy a vowel, Pat?

I ended up with a neon green border around it, but it worked. I'll have to try and tweak it a bit.

I'm very happy, many thanks everyone.

This works in PaintShop: 1) set background to a solid color 2) highlight background 3) in 'Selections' use Invert 4) save over original 'Alpha Channel 1' And, of course, remember to save uncompressed! O.K., so I 1) Select the background, then Invert the selection so the logo, not the background is ...

The animation is part of the game. You "paint" the area you want to be ocean, or lake, or river and the game does the rest.

This is a really straight forward map. Other than the win/lose events, nothing is date dependent. There is nothing special about August 1850. So who knows...

I supose I could make a really difficult version of the map. Industrious-Ballbusterious.

My next map will have multiple companies.

Event Writing : Territorial Access

I've trying to write an event that will allow access to a previously restricted territory. Question 1: Does "Territory Allow All" mean allow company access to all territories or allow all companies to access this territory? If I select "to territories," Event Validation says &quo...

Hold down the "Page Down" key and watch in the corner of the buiding description window at the "Date Built".
You can also start by using the Page Up. It will take you directly to the newest buildings.

Invisible Backgrounds for Logos

Hey Mr Scott or anybody else who can answer this question. How do I do an invisible background for irregular shaped logos (that is, not square). I've done it before with gifs, but I can't figure out how to do it with .tga

Hey Cliff, Sorry you had a problem. Do you think it was the map? Raising the point requirements is not a problem. I had gold set at 24 at one point and I believe my high was 28. Anybody think it should be harder? And, are you suggesting I eliminate some of the iron and coal mines? I usually can only...

I played it again with an eye on oil production. Refineries don't come along until 15 years in, by that point I'm making enough money off of the various industries that my only real concern is earning enough points. Wolverines comments not withstanding, I don't think it will change the difficultly. ...

Thanks Eb,

I'm currently working on "The Devil's Backbone."
I think you'll like its scenic nature, if nothing else.
Unfortunately, when it comes to Events, the devil is in the details.

You might want to check out the town of Lowland. I upgraded from a medium station to a large station and the station sinks below the earth's surface and becomes invisible. That's why I named it Lowland! j/k The last time I played it the same thing happened to me. But I thought it was just a fluke. ...

Hey Cliff,

Thanks for the feedback. Next time I'll have set it up to check for the winning conditions on a monthly basis instead of yearly. The oil is an unintentional source of income, good work.

Abbreviations: Comp. Stns. Connects City to City

Anybody know what Stns. stands for? I'm guessing Comp. stands for Company even though Co. is the stand abbr. I'm trying to write an event based on where the player starts. If they connect city A and city B then they get access to territory C for a reduced rate, but only if it is the human player's c...

O.K., I got the program to run and I got the "Done removing cheat flags!"
message, but I do not have a new fine named "Bar.gmp" anywhere on my HD.

So near, and yet so far!
