Played it before Locomotion was published. Also a good game.

Re: Any similar games to Railroad Tycooon ?
I liked Locomotion. But it's totally different from RT3. Specific cars for each cargo, no stock market, trucks, buses, ships and aeroplanes also featured, etc. A nice little game in its own right.

Re: sao miguel
I routinely replace all locomotives (if financially possible) when they become 10 years old. For some locos that may be a little early but most of them are fit to be replaced.

Does the cargo depoting work along the same lines as station amenities in TM?

Re: Galicia, map to test
In one game I laid track from Ourense to Monforte de Lemos and then through the mountains to Villafranca del Bierzo keeping height differences as low as possible. Then I simply steamrolled through the Cantabricos to Cudillero. In another game, where the Asturian goal was Cangas del Narcea I connecte...

Oh yes, in my post I wrote Braca where it should read Bracanca.

Re: Galicia, map to test
! Found an error on the release candidate. The check done on the Ourense - Braga connection is faulty. It checks against a town called Noya . Noya is ID 80, Braga ID 39. The briefing instructs the player to connect Ourense and Braga.

Re: Greening the Red Planet
On Earth yes...but on Mars? Is it possible to allow suspension bridges on an arbitrary year on a per scenario basis?

Re: Greening the Red Planet
You can connect there but it takes a bridge of epic length. I think at some point the game tells you that an invention has been made to negotiate the treacherous terrain in that area of the planet. That is, ofcourse, suspension bridges.

Re: Galicia, map to test
Got gold with a couple of years to spare. Controlled borrowing and a nice infusion of cash every year from a successful industry did the trick. Dunno if I had any particular strategy **!!!** , but I did try to run tracks through valleys and avoid long climbs. The available locos aren't really meant ...

Re: Galicia, map to test
Got bronze :-) . It seems I found the right place to start or at least one of the better ones. I was overzealous to get the link to Castille and Leon ready and borrowed so much that I didn't have resources to make the Asturias link. Time wouldn't have been an issue. Also, when the link to C&L wa...

Re: Galicia, map to test
Howdy all BTW, I normally add some paint and the trees before the final release, but I am unsure in this case about more painting. Does the terrain coloring look right already? !*th_dwn*! !*th_up*! At least I could well direct my routes through lower parts of the scenery with the colors as clues. !...

Re: LG products warning
I don't think LG is remotely in the same league with Acer. Acer monitors have this unfortunate trait that they play dead from time to time. Remove the power cord, wait a few minutes and plug it back. Works again. Acer does have more than it's share of reliability problems. If only they'd get the rel...

My LG products have served me well. DVD-burner included. I do have a different idea of the company. I think they have many passable products but no highlights. !
