Re: Civ V

As long as they remember that in sim games, looks aren't everything and that game play matters more (which they didn't in SMR) then it should be okay. That said, I really love Civ4 and still play it, and aren't all that sure if they could improve it enough to make me want to upgrade but, guess we sh...

Re: European Union

Well it wouldn't be the first TM scenario to mention major events involving General Ruth.... oh wait, you said 'Grandma' Ruth didn't you ^**lylgh Seriously though just a breif look on Wiki and there's pages of trade and other disputes both within and to outside the EU that should give you more than ...

Re: European Union

Sounds like a good idea to me just don't finish it too quickly as I've got to fully play test "Warrington Wire" before I can move onto anything else (mind you I already have another scenario in the early stages of being created based around the idea of the Channel being drained and becomin...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" - TEST MAP post

Okay I've made several changes to the scenario based upon the feedback here. Starting multiple companies is now disabled. Several new behind the scenes modifiers have been put in to 'help' the player and/or AI at various points. I've added in some hints about what is going to happen before the major...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" - TEST MAP post

Thanks for the review Wolverine. The easy things first. You were playing the current posted version so you didn't miss anything although in the version on my harddrive, I've already fixed the issue with L&M not getting territories. I should have also disabled starting multiples companies so sorr...

Welcome and can I be the first to suggest you try out the Trainmaster mod, if you want a really challanging RT3 experiance.

Re: Maps with sea floors as terrain?

THanks for all the help with my idea - which is for a TM map BTW - and for Wolverine for coming up with a solution which I'm going to test out in a minute. The idea is to have the English Channel drained (for some reason) and then populated. Naturally they'll need a rail network, to compete with the...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" - TEST MAP post

It is a little bit nasty isn't it, but is there to chance the direction of play, and you shouldn't need to start again from scratch as in all the test plays I did the AI actually makes a fairly decent job up until the 'event' and then does spectacularly badly afterwards, making the eventual take ove...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" - TEST MAP post

Don't get too cocky Ruth as I had the same experiance during an early test play, so I put in something major to make it 'interesting' (no peeking in the editor) and some other goals to try out... BTW -can you let me know the date you got to this position so I can see if I need to move the 'interesti...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" - TEST MAP post

It's been a while since I set this up but I think you only get points for cities that are connected to Warrington (Bank Quay) but I might be wrong, will have to look into that. The first point though you get for just having Bang Quay - it counts that as being connected although it's not actually con...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" - TEST MAP post

Ruth, there's nothing custom in the scenario other than the Stephenson Tycoon image, which Ned did for me but I assume that would be included in the scenario without any need for it to be installed and according to Ned as long as you have Campaign Files 2 installed everything should work fine. Natur...

Re: Monopoly (TM)

Just finished playing this and pretty much agree with everything Wolverine@MSU said. The starting years can be a bit tricky but once you're past that, it pretty much plays itself. Love the concept of the scenario, and the chance cards although thing that the charge for avoiding these is probably too...

Commadore, if you keep saying nice things about TM, then you'll end up qualifying for a 'free' copy of the game from Ned (he's got loads in his garage apparently!) just like all those who helped out. ^**lylgh

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

Okay, here's where we are up to on this one and you'll be pleased to see that we have progress. Test plays suggested to me that there was a 'dull' period in the game so I've been working on a devilish little twist to that will hopefully make things that little more tricky. I've also cleared up some ...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"

Had a bit of a break on this one but am now back balancing the industries and making some other tweaks to make things more difficult, before returning to some test plays.
