Re: 90% Savegame delays bug

Are other maps saving slow also? As Hawk said, it might be the map is detailed and takes awhile to save.

Re: Win 10 Free Upgrade

While I don't like the idea of windows forcing its updates on you, I thought I'd post this: http://lifehacker.com/microsoft-confirms-windows-10-preview-users-will-get-a-1712774167 Seems if you download the last version of preview/beta version you essentially get to keep it. So for those with vista/x...

Re: Rails & Riches

That's probably true. They seemed to have been in a rush to get the kickstarter out there and going before developing the PR for it. Guess there's always a second chance with another KS campaign after more PR is out there. They still don't have the forums on their own page up. If an old game like El...

Re: Rails & Riches

For those that haven't been looking at the kickstarter page, they added an update with a short video of a train going around a turn. The video has no sound, but you can hear they were messaged on steam while recording the video.

Re: Rails & Riches

I don't want to sound harsh here, but it was pretty obvious before you launched the kickstarter that there wasn't enough prep done. I don't know if you posted on steam anywhere, obviously the railroad forums, Cities in Motion/Transport tycoon type websites, reddit (you could try an Ask me Anything),...

Re: Rails & Riches

While RT2 was my favorite of the series for awhile, the more I played RT3 the more it grew on me. At first I thought I didn't really have to do anything in it as I could just set up trains and let them haul whatever and the cargo traveling on its own would take care of itself, but then I gave it ano...

Re: Rails & Riches

I think that the graphics these days is a little less important than it used to be. Granted you can't charge 50$ for a game that looks like it was made in 1990. But several popular games on steam don't have great graphics. (Papers Please is an example, simple game with old graphics but people enjoye...

Re: Rails & Riches

You are correct, the line does say initially regarding modders making new locomotives. "We also think that fully animated engines with particle effects and sounds, are something we should reserve for our professional content developers initially ." Not quite sure that line is necessary, at...

Re: Rails & Riches

Ok, I just watched the video again this time with sound on the kickstarter page. It can be difficult to hear people at times with the background noise. Also when you say you were working with your friends at Super Genius I had no idea who they were until I read later down on the page they were an ar...

Re: Rails & Riches

Some of my recent purchases have been games off humble bundle and occasionally they have games that you can download on steam or download the DRM free version. Obviously a direct download that doesn't require Steam is preferable. !!howdy!!

Re: Rails & Riches

Good luck to the project. It's about time another decent railroading game makes it out. We'll see how it turns out. I know while many like the steam era, I prefer the diesel era. Well good luck and hopefully a good game gets released. Many of these kickstarter games have been released and called a f...

Re: Games created with historic theams should have events randomized

Randomization no doubt helps in re-playability. I know Ned in some of his TM maps randomized a variety of things. (ex. duration of the winter which effects track costs) Although I don't think any of his were specifically historically based. I don't necessarily think the randomization has to be confi...

Re: Egypt - 1855

After some clarifying comments it didn't sound as if Win10 would charge yearly for just the OS. Course that's still possibly up in the air, but I don't see how they could charge yearly for a consumer version of Windows and not make consumers even more annoyed at MS. When some sites were reporting th...

Re: This just in - Win 10 a FREE upgrade for Win 7/8/8.1 users

I just bought a Lenovo Yoga 2 from the lenovo outlet which has required me to now actually use win8. On the Yoga which can convert to a tablet, the touch screen aspect of Win8 actually has some functionality to it. However, I still think the Metro menu should only appear when being used as a tablet....

Re: Editing the Locomotives Release and Exit Dates

If you just want the locomotive to appear for a certain time in a certain scenario you can make an event in that scenario for the locomotive to appear whenever you want. If you want the locomotive to appear in all your games a certain way you would have to edit the start and end date in the locomoti...

Re: Multiple Installations of Railroad Tycoon 3

Your best bet to get it working would be to install it to something like C:/RT3, then patch it and change the unzip/install file of the patch to where you installed it (i.e. C:/RT3). Be sure to run the patches as an administrator. I don't know all the details going on here, but for some people (on V...

Re: On Buying Win 7

64 bit is the next generation, but if you are still using old equipment it might not make that big of a difference to you. If you still have a 32 bit processor and don't have any intention of going over 4gb of RAM (real world it's more like 3gb as 4gb is the total amount of all memory allowed). Also...
