Re: new map: Margauza
Yep, I realized that I had that version messed up a couple of hours after posting it. But I was without internet connection for the afternoon. Being with a laptop, with some time and without a "link to the world", I went and rewrote a few things, including fixing that ledger malfunction. G...

new map: Margauza
I think it's the first time I post two maps at the same time... Hellia is a finished product, I think, with a proper paint job and everything running smoothly. This one, on the other hand, is a trickier one. In fact, I started it first and played it a few times, but met with a brick wall at a point....

new map: Hellia Empire
Word of warning: I am extremely proud of this map. Its making was smooth like never before, and everything went better than I expected.. the topography, the coloring, the playability (even making up city names resulted in a few nice "new words") And, now, self-praise apart, here's what mat...

Re: West Africa - late XXth century to present times
With nearly 2000 downloads (yep, celebration time is due (0!!0) ), I don't think it is justified to review the scenario because of this. And anyhow, I already have so much scenarios half-baked in here that I really don't want to dedicate time for this. Having said that, next time I make a "be t...

Re: Over the Carpathes
Hi joost I'm glad you liked it. The original idea of the Galician Railroad was slightly small for a scenario, and that's why I included the service into Hungary and from there the whole "deliveries to key cities" medal targets. The scenario was a little troublesome to test and, as always, ...

Re: new map: Kane (fictional)
The initial setting usually yields more than 3 coffee farms in the north forest around Foragatte. It should vary with some randomness more around 6 coffee farms to divide between the Foragatte in the north and the forested slopes close to Pelsker and Woramanne. Because the land is flatter in the nor...

Re: new map: Kane (fictional)
First of all, congrats Blackhawk, for the Gold and I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your detailed comments - they're very valuable. I will try to correct evertyhing you spotted (including deleting those industries and placing them in an appropriate date). The only glitch I don't think I can avoi...

Re: new map: Kane (fictional)
I thought of you Ray, while "carving" this map. It has serious mountains and I know you dread them. However, the point is to either go around or under, and I bet you did one of the two. Those mountains are just there for the scenery ;-) You say you missed Gold because of the coffee hauls. ...

Re: new map: Dragozain (fictional)
You'll see you can get Gold. It's not that hard at all, just be sensible in investing in industry and avoid spending all your money paying debt over the bonds over and over. Now, the scenario I posted after this one - Kane... that's a serious struggle to achieve Gold... Thanks for posting, Sugus, as...

Indeed, Ray, if that happens, and if it is in the last year of the scenario, it's bye bye medals.
I don't know any way around it, it's just life

Re: Rrt3 download/running problem
Has anyone already considered that the problem may be in the file.. it could be corrupted and an expected error in a read/write command could cause the .exe to fail.
Can you open the rtf file in your CD? Is it any different (bytesize) from the one Hawk sent?
That's my 2cents...

new map: Kane Valley (fictional)
Hi again fellas When I introduced Dragozain as my first fictional map, I said I had a couple more almost ready. This is one of them and I think it is ready (I'm hoping for a quick beta), the other one is still in the shop with a lot to tune. So, here's Kane. Map is composed of two large regions, one...

Re: New Map - English Contryside
Hi Aakel Don't take this post the wrong way, please  ...but I think I should tell you that it is customary to post maps for review first. You do that by adding them as attachments to a thread message (like this one I'm replying to). Only once you let the community test it and fix whatever prob...

Re: Over the Carpathes
;-) I'm waiting for a "painter and planter".. I posted the job opening a few times before .. eheh I am no good at and take no joy in painting the map and planting the trees. It is, for me, a long do-do-do-undo-undo process and I postpone it more often than not. If I could team up with a pr...

Re: Over the Carpathes
Thanks Hawk.
It took a while as I was busy and messed up the upload, but that's it.
Currently, Europe: 50 maps, North America, 89 maps.... that's a lot of work to do.. a lot of work to do..

Re: Service Station on Spurs
I always set up my spurs close to the main stations, those where most of the trains go to. Basically I try to use as little maintenance sheds as possible, since they cost money to build and to keep. As for water towers, they need to be more common in a network - steam trains won't speed up without w...

Re: Service Station on Spurs
Following on Wolverine's comments, there is another advantage to spurs, with higher effect on passenger trains. With spurs, trains tend to have higher average speeds, resulting from the fact that they never stop between two stations (unless broken, obviously). Because of this, train trips between ci...
