Thanks bombardiere and Hawk, got it. Both buildings demand paper, though I can't tell what happens with passengers. I wrote events for them, and they appear as they should. I got the yellow and blue skins but didn't know where to put them, and both the evented buildings show up greenish.

I like the scenario/gameplay that 1. Makes you feel that you are right there, experiencing history. You could face the choices that the historic 'player' would have faced. 2. You actually have a choice. You are not forced to always play the same way. 3. Not gigantic, not longer than 40 years. 4. Eno...

I tinkered this map mainly to fix the city connection events. Here is the summary of changes. As many of you know, I have seen that ridiculous price increases can ruin the the execution of the cargo flow / business model, so they are reduced in this map. 1. Changed city connection events one time on...

You must connect Chicago to New York, St. Louis, and Chattanooga, earn industry profit and haul automobiles. On the map there is an oversupply of alcohol, clothing, corn, cotton, wool and milk; these are the cargoes in the best position to cause building upgrades, mainly to houses. There is an under...

I work as a water conservation officer for a municipality that relies on stored surface water (from melted snow pack) for agricultural irrigation. The past seven summers in a row have seen evapotranspiration much higher than average due mainly to higher summer temperatures. We have a challenge laid ...

With sea right in the middle, it would be interesting to see what the ports would do, especially ports on islands. At the right scale, you might see cargo streaming across, not needing rail at all.

1. Where? Depends on map seeding, but usually where we have been talking about.
2. Buy industries, lay track, haul cargo, preferably cargo you own. When you do this, keep in your mind how you will be laying out your steel and lumber hauls. You only get 300 track before you can organize them.

Burma

This is both a review and a discussion of strategy for Burma . The scenario covers a period of British colonialism in the first half of the 20th century. You must construct a railway connecting as many cities as you can, and fulfilling haul missions to key cities. Goods must be carried inland, or mi...

Lama and EPH are two of the best. What I like is their ability to put you there. So each scenario is a walk through history, and usually the coding is not complex, nor the map gigantic. Burma is one example, and I may post soon about strategies for that one. Before I dive into scenario strategy, I w...

I was able to event commercial buildings from the 1.05a patch. Since they demand paper, and I believe they demand and produce passengers, they are the closest approximation for what I am looking for. I will work on my scenario with the commercial building event, and will switch over when ready. My p...

Need 2 new buildings - HELP!?

Here is some communication bomardiere and I had last spring before my life got real hectic. I think it was at Hawk's site or by email. The force driving the need for these particular buildings is to get a one way passenger flow to represent immigration and emigration. My scenario involves a new regi...

Now (and I'm sure you'll chuckle) the very simplistic difference between RT3 and RT2. If you were to delete the options of "any freight" or "any express" from RT3 and have to actually micro your consists like RT2, would the games not be more similar? ... I am frustrated by not b...
